Excellent case but
One of the side spring latches didn't have the tension that the others did so it wasn't staying shut tightly (first time using the item). Pelican is sending a replacement which was easy to accomplish after registering the purchase, but for the price of the case....a little more quality control may be needed. Still an excellent case and would buy again.

Solid quality case
This pelican air is for sure a solid quality case. It’s pricey but if you have items or equipment that need protection look no further this is the case.

Game changer for my on set packing!
As a makeup artist, I wanted something that could not only protect everything I pack for a film when I travel, but much bigger than my Zuca and travel bags. I wanted something with wheels, side handles. The works, but nothing so big I couldn’t fit in my trunk. Then I saw Pelicans on set from camera crew to lighting. Noticed the different sizes one day. Then saw a fellow Makeup Artist who uses one to pack as her kit. I was inspired even more to start thinking about getting a pelican case! After nearly a year of trying to figure out the right size and interior depth, I went with the 1615. It now carries up to 80% of my kit inside it! My Zuca could only do up to 40-45%, but this pelican made my life less complicated by this alone. It made it so easy on my last project where I was stationed for three weeks doing makeup at a film studio & packing up was so much easier for my life with my kit! Highly recommend this to other makeup artist because it will be the ultimate relief using this case and it’s the perfect depth for fitting everything, especially if your a reporter fanatic like me, you can fit do much in this case if you!

Nice ! But interior dimensions off a little
Interior 29.59 x 15.50 x 9.38. You lose about an inch of the height due to the handle so, more like 8.38 inch instead of 9.38 . This is true of most rollers but was not obvious from the pictures. Have not used it yet hoping the airlines will stop breaking my monitors

Lighter than the legacy line, almost as strong
Ok, let's face it, NOTHING beats a legacy pelican case. Nothing. This pelican air however is an almost twin. Built lighter, but you can tell it's related to the original. I have many, many pelican cases. They travel with me a lot including lots of flying. I finally elected in purchasing the air 1615. I've already crossed the country back/forth and top to bottom with the new air 1615. It's lighter, much lighter and that means less chance of paying over weight charges with the airlines.... something that happens often with my legacy 1650 (20+year old). So far it's held up just like it's dusty, sturdy..albeit heavier brother. I'm happy with my purchase. I'll update my review in 20 years to again compare the two different versions..

Great for Survival Game!
Was able to hold two plate carriers and my fast helmet and extra combat shirts with room to spare! Highly recommend, but be warned; it is a little expensive!
