FROM THE MANUFACTURER FROM THE MANUFACTURER ANATOMY OF A PELICAN STORM CASE THE PELICAN STORM CASE You have equipment to protect, and a Pelican Storm Case is the best way to do it. Why? It's all about the resin. But the real proof is in the bragging rights that come with survival. Because to a Pelican Storm Case, whether falling from the helicopter, crashing down class V rapids or taking a hit in the center lane of the New Jersey turnpike is all in a day's work. Lightweight and rugged, the Pelican Storm Case is the result of years of perfecting and testing in both the laboratory and the field. From the proprietary HPX plastic resin that is tough during low-temperature impact testing, to the patented Press and Pull latch that opens easily, every facet of these lightweight cases has been created to defend your vital gear. The Pelican Storm Case has been designed to meet or exceed military testing requirements. Many are airline size appropriate, and all are internationally shippable. STORM CASE FEATURES MOLDED IN LOCKABLE HASPS Twin mating hasp holes on the rim of the case allow attachment of padlocks to keep your gear in and thieves out. And check out Pelican's TSA approved cable padlock. Now you can check your baggage with confidence while flying in the USA. The Travel Security Agency has the key, and you have the combination. PRESS AND PULL LATCHES These smooth-opening, dependable, patented latches hold tight under pressure and impact despite fast-opening performance. Tested to over 400 pounds, yet open with a simple release button. RUGGED IN-LINE WHEELS Shielded from dust, dirt and other contaminants - ball bearing wheels provide low-friction, low-drag rolling with retractable handles for easy movement of heavy loads. RESILIENT HPX Lightweight, durable, impact resistant HPX shell. DOUBLE-LAYER, SOFT-GRIP HANDLES When the weather goes south you'll find a secure grip that won't slip. An in-tool vulcanizing process over-molds the grips to the polymer handle for a lifetime of dependable performance. VORTEX PRESSURE RELEASE VALVE The built-in technology of Pelican Storm Cases automatic pressure equalization valve is also a patented feature. Air travel prevents vacuum lock to make opening the case natural even after extreme altitude changes. At the same time, the microscopic filter blocks water molecules and dust particles so your gear stays clean in the Gobi and dry on the Nile. ROUNDED DEFLECTIVE CORNERS The corners of a Pelican Storm Case deflect and absorb impact, dispensing kinetic energy throughout the case to ensure contents remain safe drop after drop.

Love this case
I am a benchrest shooter and needed a nice durable case for my wind flags for storage and travel. My box came with the perforated foam, which is so easy to create just the right openings. It features a telescoping handle and wheels so that it can be pulled like luggage. For someone like me who isn't a very strong person and hates carrying heavy boxes/stuff for any amount of distance this is the answer. Of course it pulls on hard surfaces very slick and smooth. It also pulls through dirt and sand very easily. I have several Pelican boxes and of all them the latches on this box are the best. The have a push button in the middle and you depress it and the latch comes open. My other boxes you have to lift the bottom lip up and pull upwards to open them. Yes these are expensive but what I'm carrying is very expensive and the protection these offer are next to none. Plus they are waterproof so I can leave this case out over night at the range and not worry if it rains.

too heavy
Great product but beware if you are planing on flying with it. The empty case is almost as heavy as the bag allowance on commercial flights so after your gear is in...get ready to pay a lot in excess baggage rates.

My fourth and probably not my last
This is my fourth Pelican. They're what I use mostly for camping, but they're also great when traveling by air. Unlike soft side luggage which can be crushed, there are no zippers that can be popped by the growing trend of thieving baggage handlers. There's a video up on YouTube showing how zippers can be opened and closed so you won't even know you've been robbed until you get to your destination. I was pleasantly surprised when, at the end of the video, they recommended something I've already been using - these cases. I won't say I abuse 'em, but they've all handled being loaded with camping gear, and bounced around in the back of the pickup while driving around the unpaved back roads of the huge State Parks. The wheels and handles aren't of much use on dirt while camping, but they're excellent for running through airports.

Huge suitcase!
Outstanding case. Didn't have a suitcase and I wanted something I'd use more often than 'luggage.' This case as I ordered did not come with foam insert. Given the price it made a perfect suitcase for my 3 week trip to Varanasi, India. Now I also have a serious, large, heavy duty case for truck camping and road trips. Also something to toss all my 'outdoor' gear into rather than a back pack or duffel bags. Flew 6 flights round trip to India and back---wasn't charged for oversize luggage even though I believe it is just slight above the allotted measurements. If I recall correctly the case weighs 21 pounds---so that allows for another 28-29 pounds of stuff to be packed before being charged an extra $200 for a bag over 50 pounds.

YELLOW? Check. Bulletproof? Check. Expensive? Check.
If you need to schlep ten thousand dollars worth of camera gear to East BF, this case is for you. If you need to carry delicate seismic equipment to the top of an active volcano, this case is for you. If you need to be able to see your equipment as soon as it hits the baggage carousel, this case is for you. Basically, if you have expensive stuff and need to protect it, spend the money and get one of these.

Pelican Case IM2950
The Pelican Case IM2950 is a Great Case for transporting camera gear that is to heavy to take onboard a plane as a carry on. I loved my Lowepro Pro Roller X200 Rolling Camera Bag carry on but, when I returned back from CA to HI, the ramp agent looked at my bag as I was boarding the plane & claimed it was to heavy for the overhead compartment. I took it on the plane getting here but couldn't I take it back? They assured me it will be fine, yet that bothered me so I decided to purchase a more durable case or bag for travel that can go with the luggage with out fear. I choose the color yellow only so I could spot it easier on in the baggage claim area!

Got the 'used - like new' version from Amazon warehouse and it was basically 100% new, so great deal there. Rolls excellent, as expected. I'm a big fan of the Storm series because the clips don't come apart on accident and overall these are very sturdy. I like the smooth surface, great for stickers. Handle is beefy and doesn't bend even with over 100lbs of gear inside. Will be purchasing again, if I ever need another one!

Well worth the weight
Just as advertised. Expect to pack less as the case is over twenty-one pounds. Also, I used it as my travel luggage and when I told the Mexican boarder control agent it just contained clothes I earned myself a trip through the ex ray machine. Also, half the time my case was delivered to the oversize luggage area and not the usual carousel (I found this feature beneficial as I didn't need to jockey for position at the carousel). The bright color stands out, as does the quality, so it was always easy to locate. The wheels work fine and I had no issues.

Lucky me
I’ve been really lucky to get this beast for 214 CAD - almost half price for this huge case to store a Nanlux Evoke. Bought sheets of foam and made sure everything stays secure.

Great luggage case.
Great case, awesome design, will use as checked luggage suitcase. Indestructible but heavy. Quality control missed an issue on mine but it's not a biggy, handles are loose and do not lock in tucked position as they should.
