Pentair Pentek DGD Series Cartridges are manufactured from 100% pure polypropylene and are sized for use in Pentair Pentek Big Blue Filter Housings (and other heavy duty filter housings). DGD Series Cartridges are designed for purity and will not impart taste, odor or color to the liquid being filtered. Additionally, the polypropylene construction provides superior chemical resistance and is not prone to bacterial attack. The DGD Series' advanced design combines selective final filtration with appropriate pre-filtration to achieve up to three times the dirt holding capacity of similar size sediment cartridges and even greater capacity than standard spun or string-wound cartridges. The larger diameter of the filter reduces the particle load, allowing it to operate at higher velocities. The effective filter depth is increased to a full 233%. This increased depth provides very high particulate reduction efficiencies and added loading capacity. The design and performance characteristics of the DGD Series Cartridges make them an excellent choice for all residential, rural, municipal and commercial applications.

This filter works on fine clay

I had a recent problem with fine clay suspended in my well water, resulting in a faint cloudiness that wouldn't settle. Pentair's 5 micron string wound filter would not take it out. This 25/1 micron filter got the water clear. VERY happy.

Excellent for Well Water

I have a 500 foot deep well and there’s a lot of sediment that comes up through it but being that I live on a small mountain, that’s all ledge..,500 feet down is pure springwater and this filter helps to eliminate anything that might cause an off taste or an odor… and more importantly, sediment and I get water that is better than any water you could possibly buy in a store the only thing about this filter is it doesn’t quite last as long as they say it should, now that could be due to the amount of sediment in my well? But even when I’ve left the filter unchanged for 8-10 months…my water pressure doesn’t get reduced.. I don’t really need a charcoal type filter because the water I’m getting is from the earth and it’s pure so there’s no fluoride or anything like that that they tend to put in Massachusetts water sources I will keep purchasing this product because it keeps my shower heads from clogging keeps my dishwasher from clogging… it just overall gives me the best tasting water I’ve ever had…You can’t go wrong with Pentek filters!!

This filter was first recommended to me by my well guy. Best filter I have used for my whole house filter. Good value too.

Inexpensive in bulk

I've been using these Pentex filters for several years with no problems. They filter out just anything down to 50-microns. The price of these things have gone up astronomically if purchased singly ($17 - $23 each) so buying in bulk (8 filters) is a really big savings at just over $10 per filter.

Does the job

I change my water filter every two months and I'm always amazed at how much schmutz the filter manages to catch. Definitely a must-have in my house.

Works Great

I have a RO system with a permeate pump on well water. I wanted to increase the output to handle an ice maker. I left the permeate pump in place and added the pump after the sediment filter, and the high pressure switch on the output side. It inlcude a solenoid as well which I disconnected sicne it was needed and was normally on. After using 1 liter of water the pump runs for about 10 minutes. I also purchased a separate low pressure switch for the inlet side so that the pump won't run if there is no water pressure. It has only been a few days and so far so good.
