Not ideal for Inlay Kit

This inlay set is a 1/4" set. It is not appropriate for the bowtie template kit that it was recommended for.

Great for the price

Works good. I keep it clean and sharp and gives me good results. Not quite as good as Amana or Whiteside but is great for light/ occasional use.

Makes it much easier

Edit: from 5 to 3 star. Bowties are a cinch now. The brass bushing and removable grommet work amazing. Perfect fit everytime. Edit:The bit included is less than stellar and broke very soon while making several bowties. I own several Milescraft brand spiral down cut bits that work much better for much longer. I would recommend purchasing several backup bits.

works very well with Power- Tec's clear lucite template pattern

I have a plunge router, but never attempted to produce any inlays. had need to create a butterfly/bowtie inlay to further strengthen a cracked joint that would be subject to stress.. this kit does the job. made a single test run. found it to function as advertised. moved on to the actual project. worked well there, too. somewhat limited in the depth of the inlay and patch by the length of the 1/8 cutting tool. that is probably for the best. too long and the tool could flex under load producing inaccurate cuts on the male or female parts.

Quality product

This works better than anticipated. I love the detail of the o-ring to keep the expansion ring in place. I did not expect that perfect fit of the bow ties.

Great product for price and complete set.

I wanted to make 2 inlays and didn't want to spend the money for a more expensive brand. After multiple practice inlays I made this in black cherry and walnut. It worked perfectly. The kit included a centering pin that's missing on many kits. I am quite happy with the kit and the results.

Good Value

A quality product at an affordable price. In experienced hands, this inlay tool will last a good deal of cuts / time.

Good product

This item is exact in measurement made from brass and substantially cheaper than its competitors. Regrettably one is not able to buy additional router bits so when the bit breaks it is very difficult o find another to suit this fine tool.

Wildly disappointed

The fitting losses it's tension with each pass. The bit is surprisingly dull- not adequate for hardwoods. Also the measurements are off when used with the butterfly inlay. Disappointed.

Good inlay setup

New at inlays. This bushing and cutter worked well with my plunge router. Used it on a scrap piece of walnut (see photo). Fit well with no gaps
