Very durable.

Second purchase. First order lasted over 4 years before showing cracks after daily microwave use and dish washing by hand or dishwasher.

Great plates to use with the kids

We have bought 4 sets of these plates over the years and they're great for the kids. They're like thicker disposable plates that you can wash daily. Since they're made of thin plastic, they won't break if dropped. They're durable enough to be washed in our dishwasher on high heat with a heated dry (dried with a heating element at the bottom of the dishwasher, which makes it really hot in there). They do warp over time, but they last us years before they're too warped to use. For the price, you can't complain that they warp over time since it's so cheap to replace them. We have navy blue dishes, so these match them nicely (at least in color). I would definitely recommend these for anyone who has young kids who you don't trust to use your ceramic dishes. They'd work well for a party too if you want some plastic plates you don't have to throw away when they're done.

Very re-usable

I bought these plates about 7 months ago. I prefer a high lipped plate and glass plates are not made that way. I have used a pyrex pie plate to eat out of but they are heavy and room consuming. These plates are perfect and though they are described as throw-away plates, they are surprisingly durable. I am still using the first plate and at this rate I might not have to re-order until 7 or 8 years from now! I must say though that I do not use a dishwasher nor will I own a microwave, so I cannot address those issues. For those who say they are thin and light, remember they are supposed to be disposables! Yess they are light, and when I used one the first time I thought that they were maybe 2 or 3 time use plates, but I was so wrong! If you would like plates you can give to your kids and their friends without fear, or use in a cement floored place without danger of breaking, use these. If you would like more room in your shelf, use these. If you would like something light to take in a camper or picnic, well that is what these are made for. Enjoy! I am!

Disappointing Weight

I'm a HUGE fan of Preserve and have had a large set of the Preserve Everyday line (24 large plates and 24 bowls) for more than 7 years and they are well worth the money for good quality, Made in USA, BPA free, microwaveable, dishwasher safe plastic dishes. The Everyday set is finally showing its age and this Lightweight set seemed like the perfect compliment so we'd have different sizes and styles. However they are almost TOO lightweight similar to the throwaway kind. I will continue to use and review again, maybe they'll grow on me and I'm just not used to change.

Last for years

After using our first set for two years, they had enough use and we got two more sets. Some people at the party thought they were disposable but I dug them out of the trash. I love that they’re kind of disposable and can be used as a plate/ cutting board. Good for the kids. Color is nice. Easy to throw into the dishwasher. Easy to stack. Nice for simple parties and gatherings.

It has been a good purchase for the purpose I intended

I bought these plates so that I would not have to use paper plates to feed my dog. Didn't want to use the plates my family eats off of for the dog either! It has been a good purchase for the purpose I intended, the only thing I have a small issue with is that when you try to cut anything on the plate, whether it's carrots or refrigerated dog food, the plate flexes and then pops, scattering food on the counter. I assume that is caused from the materials it is made from. It's not a big enough issue to keep me from ordering them again should I need too.. Dishwasher safe, I do pop them in the microwave, but for no more than 14 seconds, and it's not often, and they have been just fine.

What is the point?

These are rather confusing as they are very similar in look than the other "everyday" plates the Preserve company makes, however unlike their "everyday" plates these are intended for temporary use and then to be discarded. What is confusing about them is that they are supposedly dishwasher safe and can be reused but also intended to be recycled... So which is it? Are we taking these to a picnic and then packing them back up to wash at home and reuse or are they toss outs? If we are intended to reuse them multiple times why on earth would we buy these instead of their "everyday" plates that will last indefinitely, are sturdier, and about the same price? The entire point to a disposable product is that you don't have to take it back home to wash and reuse it. The only way I see this product as an improvement over paper plates or "everyday" plastic would be if you are moving and just want something to use for a month in-between places without packing issues.

Not Bad

These plates aren't bad. It just over 3 months and we use them off and on - maybe once a week. They are OK in the dishwasher - a bit big for mine....and they do warp a bit but still can plop them in there. They do not dry very well though since they don't retain heat - you will need to dry them. Knives will scratch and carve grooves into the plates so use knives sparingly - for parties they are great.

Excellent reuseable plates

Has a good high edge around the plate preventing food from slipping off, they’re not flimsy, and most importantly, they can be put in the dishwasher. Great reuseable plates for bbq’s and kids parties. Happy with the quality & would recommend
