Exact replacement part.
Make sure the threads on the original door knob are not "buggered up" as this is new. Recommend buying new set screws at the same time for the same reason.really easy to install.

Picture makes it look like there’s a bit of a ridge to help the screw bite, but there isn’t, its squared off.

Old door knob replacement
This cylinder was used to replace an old door knob. The glass knob had been used for about 60 years, and, needed replacing. It was very simple, and, easy to do. It was a good price for the cylinder. I didn't have to replace the whole door knob,just the cylinder.

Fit my vintage glass doorknob! Old one was stripped and this one is identical but new!

The knob stays on! Woohoo!
My college kid's bedroom door had the original knob, which kept coming out because the spindle had become stripped- it was 98 years old! But this replacement went on in less than 5 min, with an averagely handy kid using the wrong size screwdriver. (You try to tell them, but they have to learn some things for themselves!) Now we have a spare, and know where to get others when needed. I do plan to purchase again.

Gets the job done
Liked that it arrived as expected. A tad too short to fit but will make it work. Mortise interior door is over 100 years old so the plate on the door hinders a perfect fit
