PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Maintain home security and replace old or broken window locks with this window sash lock. This sash lock has 2-1/4” mounting hole centers with a 3/8” latch projection that engages into the fixed rail of the top sash, without the use of a separate keeper. It mounts at 2-1/16” and installation is quick and easy! This sash lock can be used on vertical single and double hung aluminum sliding windows, in addition to horizontal aluminum sliding windows. This sash lock is made of a vinyl composite material. FROM THE MANUFACTURER This sash lock is constructed from a "green" composite material that is finished in white. This lock does not require a keeper. It engages the fixed rail of your window for locking. This style lock is used on vertical and horizontal sliding windows.

Worked a treat to replace my Gerkin sash lock. Save your OEM screws though.

The thumb handle broke on one of the locks on my 14-year old Gerkin horizontal sliding windows. I checked the measurements on this product and ordered it, and received it two days later. The screws included in the package were too long for my window frame, so the lock wouldn't seat securely on the frame. Fortunately, I had saved the screws from the OEM Gerkin lock. When I used those instead, the whole thing came together nicely and it works a treat. I'll definitely buy more of these if/when I need them.

I had to replace a few window locks and these are a decent replacement. They aren't heavy duty but do the job, hopefully they last

Easy replacement

These replacement locks fit perfect. The old latches seem like they were made of soda can aluminum and I don’t know why I waited so long to replace them. Yes, these are plastic, but they are more durable than what was originally on the frame. They look so nice that I’m forced to clean the window now. One tip is the screws enclosed seem too thin and allowed for the lock to wiggle a bit, so I used the old screws and now it’s solid.

Sure, they are plastic, but I bet they are stronger than the junk pot metal ones they replace

They worked great as a drop-in replacement for the old ones they are replaced. I was a bit disappointed at first that they were plastic, but they seem stronger than the old pot metal originals. A con is that the image shows a smooth thumb-lock lever, but mine came with ridges.

Easy replacement latch

Couldn’t be simpler to install. Unscrew the latch your replacing, and screw this right in it’s place. It’s maybe a tad bit less sturdy than what came on my window originally, but not at all to the point where I’m worried about it. I could even see someone replacing the latch just for a previous one being dirty or something, as this definitely looks nice.

It worked.

Had an window I broke the lock on and couldn't find a universal replacement, looked on Amazon and found this. It works with a little tweak for the odd window lock. It is only one side of the lock.

Made sure to sink that in your mind first. P L A S T I C Do not use it to secure ground floor windows. Testing it before installing shows the latch at risk of popping off. Plastic rubbing against a metal window frame means the plastic latch will be worned out.
