These spiral balance pivot bars are constructed of stamped steel and come unfinished in a quantity of 6 per pack, with screws. Double hung and single hung vertically-sliding and tilting windows that operate with 5/8 in. spiral balances require these types of pivot bars to operate efficiently. These pivot bars feature a scribed line on one end that marks the correct insertion depth at a backset of 3/8 inches, and an installed fastener at a 1 in. backset on the opposite end. These spiral balance pivot bars are simple to install and are used by many window manufacturers.

Single Hung Window Pivot Bar

Helped save me a ton of money repairing my window myself.

Due to the incompetence and, I believe, madness of my home's previous owners my bedroom window didn't have these parts installed. Cue being unable to keep my window open without a board or something else to prop it open. Anyway, the product itself is good. I only removed a star because I wish all the bars had two holes instead of one. It's a minor complaint. I'd give 4.5 stars if Amazon allowed it.

Good size and shape and sturdy, but requires some extra work for proper fit.

The best thing about this pivot bar is the shape and size. It is sturdy enough too. The downsides of this item are the small screw that comes with it and the lack of two holes. The screw that comes with each pivot bar is too small to be secured to the window through the bar. It doesn't go deep enough into the window. The lack of a second screw hole also made the pivot bar unstable as it tended to spin about the screw axis. I had to drill a second hole in the bar and find 2 new screws that were long enough to secure the bar to the window. If you don't mind doing some extra work, this product is just fine. I think the price makes it worth it since the most important thing to me was just getting the right size and shape piece of metal for my window.

Quality seems better than the original pivot bars. Could use more adjustment holes - I had to add new mounting holes in the window to get the depth correct.

Saved us costs on the sale of our home!

These pivot bars were exact replacements for our windows. We had two windows with rusted bars; these cost only $15 for six bars. Took care of both windows with a set left over. It only took a few minutes per window to unscrew the old rusted bars, clean out the hole, and slip the new bars in. Not having to pay a glass shop saved us money on the sale of our home. Awesome!
