My new favorite teapot!
This teapot is substantial and a fantastic price. It is appealing to the eye but functional in keeping tea hot. I do put boiling water in it before putting more in for the tea. It stays hot for a long time. I usually like to steep tea for 15 minutes and I've never had a teapot where the tea was still piping hot. These things may sound petty but they are little things that make this teapot fantastic! 1. The handle stays up when not in use but is hinged so it doesn't get in the way when adding water. I thought it may get loose after doing this for awhile but so far so good. 2. The tea infuser is a really fine mesh so it works really well with loose leaf teas. I've even used fresh ginger and turmeric finely grated and not a single little piece gets through. 3. The spout is curved so it makes pouring it in the cup easy without making a mess. 4. The inside is black enamel so you don't see any stains. My glass and porcelain tea accessories look stained from turmeric and darker teas even with washing them out right away. I haven't found that the paint chips or comes off at all. I make sure and dry it well so even the friction didn't make it chip.. I hadn't used it for a couple of weeks and left a little bit of water in the bottom of the inside and it was just fine. I don't know how I managed to dry the spout but missed the inside. It holds plenty of tea for 2 people with big mugs it is really enough for 4 people if you use a teacup. From the reviews I expected it to be smaller. I highly recommend this teapot! You won't find anything like it for the price. It is my new favorite teapot. I can't think of a negative other than it doesn't make my tea for me.

Cute, but wish it were a tad larger
This blue floral design cast iron teapot is nice, but I wish it were a tad larger by about two cups. It holds 4 measuring cups of liquid, but spills over slightly. The insert for loose tea looks like it would work great, but I haven't tried. I have loose leaf tea, but it's from a company that claims its bags allow the same effect -- the tea leaves/twigs are definitely large. The directions with the pot say to not put directly on the stove (this was a question in the reviews I believe). The directions also say not to leave the tea in the pot for more than one hour. I'm not sure I understand why that is as the interior is ceramic and how could it matter, unless they're referring to the strength or quality of tea after one hour. They also say not to use soap, but to pour boiling water to clean before first use. I understand the soap re the cast iron, but not the interior. The HANDLE is great -- one of the main features I was looking for -- as it does not get hot. The little round gizmo on the lid, however, gets VERY HOT. Bottom line, this is a cute tea pot which I don't have to worry about chipping, but I'll probably keep looking for another. Purchased 3/2018

The Best Tea Pot!
The best tea pot I have ever owned! I am a self confessed Tea Snob, importing teas from all over the world, taking care and time with brewing each cup I drink so when I say this is the best I truly mean it. No other tea pot has ever come close to the results provided by this one! I was for the longest time against metal teapots as I thought they gave a strange taste to my cup of heaven, guess I just had the wrong pots. I will never again use ceramic, for my ritual cups, after using this. The temperature consistency, the rate at which it reaches temperature, and the length of time it holds the temperature, is phenomenal. With a simple warm up with tap water and then properly boiled water poured in this pot stays hot for hours. The temperature qualities also result in the smoothest tasting cup of tea as all the heat goes to the tea. The pot is not only utilitarian, it is beautiful. The details and colors are amazing and it is the centerpiece of any counter or table I put it on. The construction is amazing, the internal coating heavy and rugged and the exterior as well. The handle is well attached and swings easily and transports the surprisingly heavy pot with confidence. The spot pours evenly and the lid fits tight and surely every time. The stainless steel infuser is also of high quality. If I had to pick one gripe, it would be that the folds in the infuser screen can catch used tea and make cleaning it a bit more of a chore than it could be.

Holds warmth
Received as a Christmas gift. Love using for a pot of tea before bed or in the morning and drink several cups on the weekend. Very sturdy. Prettier than I even thought it would be (it’s been on my wishlist for a while). I have an electric tea kettle so I usually put the loose leaf tea in the built in filter. Filter is very well made and not too big of holes. Then I pour the hot water in and let it steep. I was surprised how long the water stayed warm but that makes sense since it’s cast iron. Inside of pot is ceramic lined so doesn’t rust easily. I have also reheated the pot on my stove top. Absolutely love this pot

Disappointed
Very cute but the post states it can hold 40oz but the box states 36oz. 40oz was the smallest volume I could use for the reason I ordered it.

You can’t boil water in it
I figured that since this was cast iron, you would be able to use it on the stovetop. But it says you can’t in the care instructions. I kept it because I fell in love with how pretty it looks. But wish you could boil water in it

It's smaller than I expected
I purchased one of these six years ago, so I can't guarantee what the quality is like now, but mine has held up very well. It's smaller than I expected from the pictures, it only holds about three large mugs of liquid when it's filled to the brim. I like the way the wire basket inside reaches down nearly to the bottom, so even if you don't fill it all the way with hot water, your tea leaves are still under water. It has an enamel coating inside which makes it easier to clean.

Very beautiful in person
Comes with a removable tea filter for loose tea leaves. Very beautiful deep blue color matches well with pioneer woman blue. Heavy like cast iron so you don’t use it on the stove top. You put it on the counter with a hot pad and put boiling water inside. This kettle keeps the water hot for a long time.

Very pretty and solid
I was hoping for a nice big teapot as we have a lot of tea drinkers in the house. This teapot isn't the biggest and barely holds one litre of tea but I'm totally okay with it because the pot is so pretty. It seems well made and came with a card on how to care for it properly...with proper care I can't see why this wouldn't last for years and years. The pot kept the tea drinkably hot for about an hour. Very happy with that! Being cast iron, the pot does get very hot but didn't seem to transfer much of the heat to the handle and I didn't need anything to protect my hand. Overall, I'm very happy with this pot. Edit: the plating on the spout bubbled and peeled. Instead of returning and likely facing the same problem again, I'm going to run some steel wool over it and remove the rest of the surrounding plating. Not a big deal.

Beautiful strong Tetsubin (TeaPot)
If you preheat this teapot, brew your tea and come back 1/2 to 3/4 hour later, yup, the tea's still super hot. But as soon as you take a cuppa, she starts cooling down rather quickly. Also a warmer is useful with any cast Iron teapot if you want your tea to stay hot for longer periods of time. I love these type of teapots , having 4 different sizes from a 20 oz, a 26 oz a 34 oz, and a 44 oz. For a single guy, I use the 44 ox the most. however I like to use this one as well from time to time. The Teapot is beautiful to look at and the color's pretty nice as well. Took a photo to illustrate the real color. Just remember!!! Don't heat them on a stove! if you do you will destroy the lining in the teapot. With proper care these teapots will last forever.

Phenomenal Product: I use it everyday!
I bought this teapot spontaneously while at a pub. I had been wanting to buy one for a while, but when I bought this one my brain thought, Why not? As a result, purchasing this teapot is perhaps the best decision I have ever made in that state of mind. Its solid cast-iron construction has given it great durability, and though there is some wear and tear on the paint after using it enough, I like to think that it gives the teapot some 'character' rather than making it look disastrous, as is the case with many of the glass teapots you will see on the market today. If you are looking for a durable, aesthetically-pleasing, and mid-sized teapot, then this would be perfect for you. It ought to be something that will last you for life!
