Bigger than I expected and doesn't hold pole securely, but still okay
The base was much larger than I expected, but I suppose I should've got the measuring tape out when I first looked at the ad, and then I would've known. They did provide the measurements on the ad page. It was super easy to assemble, and I read the review about the pole "flopping around." At first I didn't see where that was true because I thought they meant the pole in the base, but once I put a standard 6' umbrella bought from Amazon in there, I see now that the screws that go through the base's pole into the side of the umbrella pole aren't long enough, and don't hold the umbrella securely. The screws only barely touch the umbrella pole - they don't push up against it enough to hold it still, so I imagine in some wind, you'll get an effect where the umbrella is spinning or something. There's also nothing that anchors the base pole to the plastic part, but it won't slide out because it has a disk on the bottom to hold it so you can't pull the pole out the top of the base, and then the screw things that (should) hold the umbrella in place keep the base pole from sliding out the bottom of the plastic part when you pick up the base. I wouldn't accuse it of being "securely" in there because you can spin the base pole around inside the plastic part of the base, but it's not coming out, so whatever. I haven't filled it with water or sand yet, but it seems like that will be easy enough. Getting the water back out of it if I want to move it might be a bit of work, but nothing unreasonable. Sand I would just leave in and try to carry it as is. Overall, I'd say it will likely keep the umbrella from falling over, but not sure it will do much more than that, since the umbrella is not really secured to the base. I guess we'll find out the first stiff wind we get! LOL

Does the Job
Does the job, but loosens up after a while. Found myself tightening it like once a month.

It's OK
My problem is the hole to fill it with sand; it is just to F___in small. It should be 3" in diameter. It takes a small funnel to fill and takes some time. If you attach just the bottom half of the umbrella like I did then when it gets full; shake it to level out the sand. I did this over and over and was able to fill it with 46 lbs of sand. Play sand you can get for about $6 at Home depot or Lowes. This base is used for umbrellas that will be against a wall or window. For those reviews about it falling over well I guess it takes a rocket scientist to figure out if there is a gust of wind that might happened. On the bottom section with pole only; not the umbrella top section with the umbrella I added a rope then secured it to my wall using a eye bolt. From the pole to wall will be 4-5 inch space so I wrapped the 1/8" rope around the pole 4 times then to the wall which works well. This helps keep it for blowing over. You can not put a rope on the umbrella top section because it will interfere with the umbrella's slide. So far so good.
