REAL OR FAKE: Here it is...an up to date review on the authenticity of these glasses. I purchased the matte havana frames with the blue/green polarized lens. I read all of the reviews (well, all the 1 stars and quite a few 5's), got a little scared that I was wasting my time purchasing fake Ray Bans and decided that since I had Prime I could always take them back for free. I just received mine in the mail and they came in the silver box, inside a black Ray Ban case with the micro fibre cloth and a little booklet. I checked all of the ways online on how to check if you have bought a fakes or not, so I quickly put my new pair to the test. They passed my own inspection with flying colors (notice the pun, and the day this was written, tehehe). Anyway, I was 99% sure that the lenses were actually polarized, that they were genuine in every sense of the word, but since this was my first pair I decided to take it to a local merchant that is also a certified Ray Ban seller (along with many other brands). I compared first myself with the other new wayfarer's in their store, and I found that my pair was actually more sturdy and elegant. This might have been because the models I looked at were on the show floor, but mine seemed heavier slightly, more tight and just nicer. Then I used their polarized display and sure enough the lenses passed the test perfectly. So I handed the pair over to the specialist and let them inspect it. Guess what? It was 100% genuine RayBan's. Then they asked why I was here not buying from them...this is the fun part. I told them I bought these on Amazon for $28 including overnight shipping. How's that, you ask?!!?! Well, as of right now this exact pair just dropped in price by $7 since yesterday when I bought them. So at $85 (my purchase price) plus tax and shipping it came out to $98. I didn't have time to spend the $98 so I applied for Amazons credit card and once approved got $70 instantly credited to my account...then I bought these. It's true and quite beautiful, now that I know that I know that I know they are REAL. I did make sure that the pair I selected were sold only from and shipped from Amazon LLC. I also would note that it could be hit or miss with the authenticity of your pair you purchase but hopefully you can be rest assured that at least some of the pairs sold are legit. These are nice. I mean really nice. They fit perfectly, feel very sturdy, look amazing, match to the "t" other genuine Ray Bans and these don't sweet or make cracking noises or whatever. Actually, in the store with real Ray Bans the plastic pair of wayfarer's actually did make a little bit of noise. They were full price and I felt really smug for beating the system. You can too, but my advice is to have prime in order to have free returns in case you aren't as fortunate. I'm also tempted to get a second pair since it's so cheap right now...hmmmm...yes. Hope this helps! LAST THING: check my pics, this is the case and the glasses. You can even see the etching in the lense on the right lense in the pic. You're welcome.

Better Than Expected

I will not comment on these style wise, you either like the Wayfarer design or you don't, everyone has seen these glasses before. I do prefer the New Wayfarer over the Classic Wayfarer, but once again that is more personal preference. I will comment on a few objective things - 1. If you are a what I consider a normal sized guy to bigger guy, or just have a big head, buy the 55mm. These fit my rather large head very well ( 7 1/2 baseball cap size ). I bought the 52mm ones for my rather small wife and those fit her perfectly as well... so I would say a good rule of thumb is 55mm = Men, 52mm = Women 2. If you have never owned a pair of Ray Bans before you will be amazed by the build quality and just general high end feel of these glasses. I currently own another couple pairs of Oakleys and was really impressed by how much nicer these generally seem. The plastic is a very thick and heavy variety, not so heavy that it interferes with comfort, but the plastic feels much more rigid and durable than the Oakleys I own. 3. The lens is actually made from crystal vs. plastic that is found in almost all other brands. This again gives the glasses some weight and high end feel to these glasses over other brands, time well tell how scratch resistant they are but I have a feeling they will hold up over multiple years of use better than the plastic lens. 4. If you buy these directly from Amazon, not one of the other retailers listed on Amazon, you can be sure they are the real deal. If you want to be 100% positive, just look for the RB logo etched on the right size, of the right lens when you are looking at the front of these glasses. 5. All the ones I see listed as being sold by Amazon are generally about $40 - $60 off the standard MSRP of what you would pay at almost all retail outlets, I am not sure what kind of arrangement they have made with Ray Ban, but you really would be foolish to buy these anywhere else if Amazon has the size and color you want in stock.

Wonderful shipping time from Nyciwear, Great product. Rubber Black 55mm

I ordered the Rubber Black 55mm. I chose one of the individual dealers (Nyciwear) because i needed it shipped to Canada. The glasses arived almost a week before expected, which was wonderful. This is my third pair of Ray Bans and having purchased the passed two from a local registered dealer i decided to try amazon for my third pair. I can really say these are my favorite pair thus far. My previous two have been the normal black pair that everyone gets. No dissappointment with them but i must say the black finish would get really scratched. This rubber black pair seems to be at least a little more resiliant (so far). Also if anyone is wondering, they are not actually some kind of flimsy rubber. They are just like the standard Ray Ban but with a Matte black finish. As a note for size, i am a average sized (140 lbs, 6ft) 22 year old and the 55mm fit me wonderfully. My girlfriend is slightly smaller and looked like a child putting on their parents glasses when she tried them. So with that being said if you typically find glasses too large, or have a small head, try the smaller ones first!

Not sure these were new...

Love the glasses, however I'm fairly sure the pair I received were not new. The frames were dusty/dirty, you could see where someone had haphazardly tried to clean the lenses with solution, the Ray Ban sticker was falling off, and the "Made in Italy" text was beginning to rub off. Not what I'd expect from a $130+ pair of sunglasses.

Pleased with the purchase

A birthday gift for my son who is delighted with the sunglasses. I read the different comments, debating whether they were 'real' or 'fake' - they're a nice weight and good quality. Seem to have all of the features of the 'real' Ray Bans, but in the end .... does it matter?? If you like a product and believe that it's good value for the money you paid, then that's really all that matters. We're satisfied.
