Rite in the Rain All-Weather Pen: All-Around Great
I needed a pen to carry with me when I travel. It had to be compact and reliable. After doing some research, I landed on Rite in the Rain. Here are my 2 cents on it. Also, check out my photos ???? for a closer look. Pros ???????????? - Compact: It will fit right into your jean’s lighter pocket. - Lightweight: This pen is under an ounce! - Comfortable to hold. - Travel-Friendly. The plastic construction doesn’t set off any TSA alarms! - Fine Line: It works fine and writes fine. - Made in USA ???????? I like that and I’d like to see more of it! Cons ???????????? - A tad pricey but all things considered, not a big detractor for me. - It rolls off the table which sounds like a small nitpick but I’m more likely to lose it that way! - The actual writing is decent but nothing to write home about! See photos ???? The Bottom Line ✍️???? I am very happy with my new pen. If you need a reliable pocket pen for travel or EDC needs, Rite in the Rain All-Weather Pocket Pen makes an excellent choice. I am happy to use it and happier to recommend it to others. Hope my review has helped you make a more informed buying decision ????????✌️

Nice little pens
These are compact and handy. Keep one in each of the cars and one in my carry on airplane bag. Much less expensive than the Space Pens but use the same ink cartridge so they'll write under water or thru butter. The only disadvantage is the ink cartride is not replaceable but that is not a big deal as they still last longer than a regular pen.

They worked perfectly!
I used this pen on “rite in the rain” paper, I worked in the rain for 12 hours and my paper was definitely damp, this “rite in the rain” pen consistently worked great for my entire shift, no smeared ink and legible.

Works as advertised, but just way too small
The pen stays true to its namesake and does "Rite in the Rain" for sure (at least when coupled with their special notebooks) but is otherwise kind of unremarkable. It's a pen, it writes decently. But it also costs EIGHT DAMN DOLLARS per pen! Not only that, but they are half the size of a normal pen so you're basically spending 16 dollars for the equivalent of one typical pen. And, naturally, you can't get refills so they force you to buy new overpriced pens when they die. And that ties into my other issue which is that they are TOO SMALL and easy to lose. They are tiny. I understand that is the point, but it makes them a tad hard to use and VERY easy to lose. I've already misplaced both of mine and have only had them for maybe few weeks. Will I find them again? Hopefully. But still they REALLY need some way to secure them. A clip? A loop to attach it to a strap or lanyard? Anything really would be an improvement. I never actually got to use them in the rain, but I can't imagine such a tiny smooth pen would be optimal. It's understandable that they are small and I lost them because I'm so clumsy (though I seldom lose normal pens) but for $8 per pen these are just very underwhelming.

Not totally thrilled but they will do
I thought(assumed) they would write like the other write in the rain pens. They don't They are very fine and light print. I will put them on bags for just incase.

EDC Essential
I EDC this pen and I love it. Very practical and I like how it’s small and light. Haven’t tested it after being wet but seems like it would do just fine.

Fits in pocket easily
I keep one of these in my pocket most of the times. It writes great too. Not had to use it in the rain but it’s been clear ink no smears, and I love the fine point.

Would buy again
Much cheaper than a space pen, but also much less ink too. If you pull out the nib with pliers to have a look the amount of ink has got to be less than 1ml. So really for occasional writing tasks, and not for taking notes etc. That said, it does write well in the rain (with the special paper) and I don't even notice it in the back pocket becasue its so light. They are cheap enough that if lent to someone in a stressful situation it might not be as important to get it back (after loosing two spacepens this way . . .) imo, therefore a win.

Tiny amount of ink
The amount of ink in these pens is utterly ridiculous. It’s absolutely minuscule. Even though the top half of the pen fits into the bottom part which makes it more compact and easier to store in a notebook or diary that effectively halves the room for the ink refill and then that half is mainly taken up by a large spacer. This means that only about a fifth of the pen has ink. Also it won’t write on my hand if it is even slightly damp. Avoid.

The whole thing wobbles when writing
They wobble when you write where the two sections connect. Isn’t amazing at laying down ink. Go with a Tombow airpress pen instead.

Does what it says on the tin
Not used it much, it is in my hillwalking bag. But feels comfortable to hold.

Small for carry, full size for writing
I got this off a recommendation off a friend. When capped (closed), the pen is a tiny size. It fits easily into the smallest of pockets. This could actually be a downside for some. If you have a dedicated Pen pocket/sleeve on basically anything(like a shirt or binder ), this will get lost down in the sleeve/pocket.It works for me because my pen pocket is soft and i can push the pen up and out with ease. When posted(Open with the cap on the end, ready for writing) the pen is a proper full size and is comfortable enough for short note taking . It is no lovely feel though. it i after all a pen built to be rugged and portable. My main issue with this pen is the refill inside, which is a shame because i use fisher refills daily when a ball point pen is needed. The ink colour itself is a dull black closer to a grey pencil shade. Not ideal for making lasting impressions. The even bigger bother is how small the cartridges are .The ink colour completely finished out of one within 2 months of light use five days a week. I suppose it should be expected that a small refill will last a short time, but this was too short . The price makes this a deal breaker for me. The pen is a nice novelty, but that's it. TLDR: Pen is too expensive and runs out of ink quickly.
