Please note: Test the installation before replacing the cartridge. On new installations, most cartridges have to be calibrated. This is the most common reason for replacement. On older installations, take the cartridge out and flush with high pressure. This occasionally returns an older cartridge to working condition. Remove With 17mm Or 11/16 Inch Open Jaw Wrench. A4915Bo And A4916Bo. For Thermostatic Valve A4910A4913Bo. Cartridge only.

worked as advertised
The wrench extraction tool, which fit the old valve perfectly, did not quite fit the new valve, but was workable.

Finicky Rohl shower? This is the remedy.
Mixing valve was not allowing cold water through the cartridge. Horrible for client to use master shower. 6 minutes to swap it out and I am a hero. Expensive but cheaper than a new valve swap out. Thanks for the product.

Grohe thermostatic cartridge
A weak design by Rohl. This was a replacement for a 10 year old thermostatic valve cartridge. The old one actually broke in two pieces making removal a nightmare. The back section was stuck in the valve housing and took me 20 minutes to get it out. I had to tell the customer that it might happen again since this is the very same cartridge as what I removed. Rohl looks real nice and is very expensive but their stuff has been poorly engineered for years now. I get nothing but complaints from my wealthy customers about this brand with their bathroom and kitchen products.

hard to find in local stores
The temperature control in our shower was becoming hard to turn. After taking the thing apart, it was clear that the cartridge itself was the problem. The replacement completely solved the problem. On further exploration, it seems that the old cartridge was the victim of hard water/mineral deposits. I soaked it for 3 days in cider vinegar to clear the deposits and it now turns freely. So I have a spare!

Shower fixed!
It solved my low flow problem in our shower. By soaking the old one in vinegar, I was able to clean it and now I have a spare.

Go to Rohl directly.
I purchased this a year ago and am now having to replace the unit again. I just spoke to Rohl. They are going to sell me one for much less than the cost of this item.
