Great plate, but
This is a great plate. My legally blind husband finds the graduated sides very helpful. I only gave it 4 stars because I wish I could put it in the dishwasher.

Increases Independence
My husband is more easily able to eat most of his meal by himself because of the curve in the plate. I wish it didn't stain so easily. It is hard to clean. I would still recommend it.

Perfect for disabilities.
Very nice heavy weight plastic plate!! My daughter has Parkinson's and I just ordered it for her, along with weighted silverware( fantastic) she wasn't able due to her tremors to get the food up on her spoon before now. Now, she can push the food to the high side of the bowl and scoop it up perfectly!! No more fighting with pushing food around and unable to scoop it up on a regular plate! She loves it. This could be used for a child, but is definitely not made for a child. Tonight she had a meat and 2 side dishes. She held her plate while sitting, so I can't verify the suction. Highly recommend!! 5 STARS !!

The rubber ribbing on the bottom came off and won’t stay on.rough on the surface.
The rubber ribbing on the bottom came off and wont stay on. Thus it is no longer non-slip. Also hot food left the plate rough on the surface - making it harder to clean.

Another thoughtful tool for arthritic hands
This is a good sized dish with an effective sloped rim edge. My elderly parent is able to scoop the food against the raised sides when his arthritic hands just can’t fine tune his grasp of a fork. It hand washes nicely with no stain of the italian ragu sauce we eat frequently. The rubber ring underneath the dish keeps the dish from sliding around the dinner tray.

It really helps my husband be able to feed himself works very very well
This plate has really helped my husband and being able to feed himself. I just wish it was made out of a harder material where the knife wouldn't leave trails in it and then spaghetti sauce get stuck stains in it

Excellent item for serving food on
He loves the scoop plate; it is stationary and doesnt slide around or off table; very sturdy and stays in place; the scoop part is where food vegetables etc go and meat at top of plate that way he can scoop the food up with his fork or spoon and not chase it all over his plate or have it to slide off plate; Would recommend this for any handicap person that has problem feeding himself; love it

Finally a solution!
My mother-in-law has had trouble feeding herself because she pushes food off the plate since she can no longer "stab" it. This dish has been the best solution so far, and it is better than several other manufacturers' versions because of the non-skid bottom. We put the plate on a placemat, so it helps keep in from moving. As others have noted, it is best not to cut meat on the plate's surface, but this is a small price to pay in order for MIL to be able to continue to feed herself.
