Classy

Good quality hat, exactly what I expected. Large brim gives the face enough sun protection, and does it in a classy way. Plus it was cheaper than ordering from the manufacturer directly. Only downside is that it's "one-size" but there's no adjustability. So make sure you have a normal sized head!

These really are the best hats to protect your face/neck/chest from the sun

Love these hats! They have the largest brim I’ve ever seen. They are a bit floppy and sometimes you do have to fiddle with the brim and adjust the shape. But they really do offer so much sun protection. I have 4 of them now, 2 for everyday outdoor use and 2 to keep good and clean for going out. When you wear them, you kinda feel like a work of art, they are very pretty and add a touch of beauty and sophistication to any outfit. They look great on. Really happy I found them. San Diego hat company makes great quality hats.

Magnificent!

Update June 6, 2022: I am buying another one, that is how much I like this hat. Won't need to wear it every single day this time. Update July 2, 2019: Have had this hat a month, wear it every day in the sun and it has FADED. You'd think a sunhat would be made of more colourfast material. Very disappointed, especially considering my old sunhat never faded at all. I have attached pictures showing the comparison between the original colour and the new faded one. 6-6-22: While it's definitely not a hat to wear every day for hours in the direct sun for a month nonstop... that's fair, honestly, I doubt the designers really thought a person would buy it and wear it as part of their everyday kit. I'm readjusting my rating because sun fading is sort of impossible to really fight at the scale I was using the hat. It lasted a REALLY long time and kept my skin from getting burnt and took a helluva beating considering it was being used every day by a homeless person (me) all summer. This hat was purchased as a replacement for another hat of the same colour, that sadly was not made of sturdy stuff, and ripped apart when the wind pulled it off my head. I was nervous--dropping over forty dollars on a hat seemed like a lot, especially when I wasn't sure if it would fit, or how sturdy it was--but it was one of the only sun hats that came in hot pink, and the other reviews seemed comprehensive and reliable enough (I ran them through fakespot to be sure). I'm so glad I did. PROS: - HUGE. This is a very large brim. A portrait hat. A hat Captain Barbossa would approve of. - Fits large heads super good! I can even wear a high pony tail with it (I have shoulder-length hair, not very dense) - Sturdy! It's sewn and has heft to it. I have no fears it will rip apart. - VERY VERY HOT PINK, exactly what I wanted. The colours are true to photo/name! CONS: - no chin strap. This would be helpful as the brim is very prone to catching the breeze and flopping around or right off! - the brim is VERY floppy and it takes work to make it not obstruct my vision (tip: roll the brim up in the front a little bit, and let the back of the hat 'pinch' together behind you). TIPS: - figure out which direction the hat wants to sit on your head, in order to be folded the best. DO NOT expect the brim to just be uniformly flat the whole way around, this isn't how the hat works natively. If you want to sew some florist-weight wire around the brim, that would help it stay however you want it. - either get used to holding your hat on when the breeze picks up, or buy some ribbon/tape (that's fabric tape, not sticky tape) and hot glue or sew on a chin-strap. You could also try tying it on with a scarf, but I feel like if I wanted a poke bonnet I would have bought a poke bonnet. OVERALL: Extremely good hat, would buy again. I get compliments everywhere. I think I want more colours!

Glamorous & Sturdy Statement Maker

Gorgeously huge hat, if you can rock it! Quality: This hat is very sturdy and made with good quality. It is very big making it awkward to pack for vacation. It does slightly fold/wrap and unfolds nicely without damaging the brim. I didn’t try pressing it flat and putting it a suitcase for fear I would snap the spine in the brim. Nonetheless, it made it to Mexico and back in my carryon bag with no problem. Size/fit: This is why I gave it 4/5 stars. I have an abnormally huge head circumference. So, while it did squeeze my head a bit, I’m used to that with hats. However, I wish this hat had just a little stretch. I know that’s not typical in woven hats, but it would have been nice. If you have an average size head, it should fit perfectly or even a little big. Sun protection: It definitely blocks the sun. The brim is huge and bendable. So, you can position it however you need to block the sun. I will say, I got EXTREMELY HOT while wearing it. This could be because it is black or the material is made from. However, I think it’s due to my abnormally big head and how it holds heat easily. In the full sun I couldn’t stand the heat, but when I wore it on a partially sunny day it wasn’t bad at all. Look: This is a very glamorous hat. With the right outfit and shades you may feel like a celebrity. It’s definitely a head turner. So wear it with confidence!

This is a substantial hat! It’s very good quality and definitely has weight to it. It’s tagged San Diego hat company and I didn’t know this when I bought it, though I’m uncertain if it truly is or not. But it’s good quality for the price paid and I don’t regret it one bit!!
