Never worn a sidewalk surfer? This one will make you a Chiba-liever! Sanuk was started by surfers in southern California in the late '90s who were looking for footwear that reflected their lighthearted way of life. Founder Jeff Kelley was disappointed to see little selection in a category of footwear that had become his main shoe staple: the flip flop. Jeff had always been interested in footwear and with a little help from a few friends Sanuk was born. Years later, the Sanuk brand still delivers out of the ordinary, quality product to surf and specialty shops every season and has helped bring the flip-flop category from a summer only item to something worn all year.

Great shoes
I ordered another pair of Sanuk Chiba shoes. They are so light weight and a nice sole to walk outside. I ordered a men's size 8 because he wore them all the time and they fit me. Normal woman size I wear is also an 8. But I wanted true comfort. I wore my husband's shoes all the time. Great buy and they last forever.

Most comfortable loungers ever
Awesome shoes. Bit pricey for what you get. But they do last!

Amazing as always!
I bought my first pair of these ~4-5 years ago. After TONS of use the bottoms are starting to finally wear thin. I was quality had gone down since buying my initial pair due to Sanuk's rising popularity, but it seems they've stayed true to quality!! (I'm looking at you, Vans...)

They are very comfortable and I love the style!
Confy and stylish but you have to get used to walking in wide shoes with protruding soles. I trip a lot but they look great so I am working through it.

I wish they had a sole
The soles are basically nonexistent. It feels like I’m walking on the pavement. They are distressed, so they aren’t really durable. They are a lazy day casual shoe at best; not meant for trekking around festivals.

Comfortable
I love wearing these shoes they allow air to my feet, which keeps them comfortable and not sweaty, I love driving with the shoes on as well, and also a comfortable every day where.

comfy
pricy but comfy. So far so good. Will be interesting to see how long they last, but no complaints so far!. And love the "sloppy" look. only thing negative and why not a 5, is the price tag. Otherwise, great. I just can't say at this point if its worth - will be able to tell after a year.

Supercool
These are so comfortable yet so cool to wear. And there is an ethical angle to them too. Must have for any summer

They were purchased for my son and he loved them. Should have payed more attention at purchase I assumed that all the Chiba's had the fold down heal, this style has a more ridged heel.

Yeah, they will work for summer shoes.
liked these so much, I sold my truck, bought a single gear bike and moved to tofino. Not actually. Construction isn't bad, slippery as all heck'n in anything other than sun. They are comfy, easy to slip on and all around decent footwear for the summer, beach or cabin. Are they worth the price? Meh. it's hard to swallow, we'll see how much longer the tread works for. after only one summer, it's worn down to smooth.
