Tips: Using Petroleum Jelly or a clay softener can help soften the clay to then knead easier. Clay will be firm at first, but will soften as you knead it in your hands. If kneading large portions is too difficult, divide the clay in smaller pieces, as it will stick together easily once softened. Safe & Non-Toxic: Eco-Friendly Material, Odorless, Soft and Non-Sticky modeling clay. AP Certified and suitable for ages 12 and up. Versatile clay can be drilled, sanded, painted, and have more baking clay applied after hardened. Multipurpose: Perfect for home projects, school projects, building models, creating jewelry, flower arrangements, crafts, science projects, and many more!. Easy to Use: Sargent Art polymer baking clays are great for all types of clay sculpting projects from crafts to jewelry. Simply create your sculpture by hand or with sculpting tools, and once hardened, it can be sanded, drilled, and painted.

Work it and it works great
This material is very tough at first. Needs a lot of working to get it to a playable state. Once you get a there, it holds shape and doesn't get dried out if left alone for a few days.

Work it!
Let me start by saying this product is not easy to work with. I havent worked with polymer clay before until now so im no expert but you really have to work it to soften it up and make it workable. It comes out of the package hard as a rock and even once it's softened, you'll have to use a baking pin or something to roll out the clay. I am using the clay to create pots for my plants.

Came like a brick in a ziplock bag
Well as in pictures it came in ziplock bag with large block in its own clear plastic package and a smaller side block not in a package and both were like bricks and crumbley I have done alot of online research into how to use this and make it soft again I used baby oil on my hands after I cut small block into cheese size squares and then placed in ziplock bag and left in bowl of hot tap water till it cooled down and put some baby oil on my hands and rolled it seems okay but a little crumbly on edges (pic on left of rolled)took one cube and after water warming rubbed oil on it put it in plastic baggie and microwaved for 10 seconds was a little better and rolled out better (pic on right) figured I would add this bit to any one with this issue I read all other reviews and saw alot of the same I went through google to find the techneaks I used hope it helps

It is hard
It's supper hard to work with but paired with my previous experiences with different types of clay, I mainly enjoy the fact that I don't have to worry so much about it drying up. Most become impossible to work with and unusable if left out too long. This has lasted me days of not covering it. If working with this is an issue, try mixing it with other types of clay or baby oil

It bakes very well for a value price
It is a stiffer polymer to start, but will soften quickly when kneaded. It mixed well with other brands and baked beautifully. For young children, If you mix and pre-soften the clay for them, it will be properly pliable, not to mention a bonding opportunity for you.

hard and crumbly
Hard as a rock and I couldn't even knead it without it crumbling, but with time and patience I finally got it going.

Too hard to get workable
Like others said, it comes out as hard as a brick and crumbly, once you can break off a piece. My 11yo can’t get it workable. I’m returning it.

It is a HARD clay.
Yes, it is a very stiff solid clay, but that is preferable for my projects, I want a clay that won't pick up my fingerprints and will hold firm. It just takes a bit of extra kneading but it is a GOOD clay!

Came expired
I'm not sure how well this product works when it is fresh. This item was as hard as a rock. Very disappointing.
