Not the quality we come to expect from Schlage in the past

Fed up with the cheap quality of the Kwikset lever sets originally installed in my home, we insisted upon Schlage when we replaced all exterior doors on our home. A few years later, as we finish up our remodel project, it's time to replace all the interior door locks. What we learned from about 4 1/2 years of using Schlage Birmingham lever sets (exterior and interior): these things simply don't last. Most of our exterior levers are drooping from the center - that is, the core of the lever is bent in a downward direction from only 4 years' use. Many of the handles won't return to center and hang down slightly. I've filled out the lifetime warranty form on Schlage's web site 3 times with no follow-up contact at all. I've sent pictures, invoices, and I've described the issues -- absolutely no contact. Unless you don't plan on using your door handles or knobs, you might want to stay away from Schlage in its current form.

Great replacement hardware

The local hardware stores in my area stopped selling these, I couldn't believe it. Such a simple and beautiful design that stands out among the rest of their product line. A vast majority of what I use is Schlage because I've seen them stand up to punishment longer than other similar manufacturers. I replaced a lot of the original door hardware that was installed in my home back in the late 80's. Regardless of the previous hardware being old and worn, the difference is night and day in terms of component weight, strength, design, and function. Things like striking and latching are smoother, the doors shut and stop without rattle or play. A personal preference for door-lever over door-knob is ease of opening if your hands are full.

Perfect fit just like my other Schlage handle

I looked at Home Depot and Lowe’s neither carried this handle. Went on Amazon BINGO. I can still keep all the door handles uniformed and the other Schlage door handle went through hell it is on our kitchen door and we use it all day everyday as it leads to garage.

Solid, nice looking

I am a 64 year old woman. I have been replacing door knobs with levers. I bought this one because it matched the funky, old fashioned look of a powder room. It is solidly built and installed easily. It is attractive in the bathroom.
