The Sea Gull Lighting Kent one light outdoor wall fixture in black creates a warm and inviting welcome presentation for your home's exterior. Kent outdoor lighting fixtures by Sea Gull Lighting are crafted in die-cast aluminum for added durability to withstand harsh weather conditions. The traditional styling inspired by antique gas lanterns is offered in either Oxford Bronze with Clear Seeded glass, Black finish with Clear Beveled glass, and both finishes with Satin Etched glass. Easy installation

Very hard to install coach lights....screws were too long, had to buy shorter screws. The lamp post was easy to install. Had a professional install hanging light because the light was hanging from a 12 foot ceiling.

It can be installed upward or downward, and looks nice and formal. It is hefty and solid, and I would buy it again.

Lights OK, Install Nightmare

Although I don’t usually post reviews, good or bad, I had to make an exception in this case. I just completed installing seven of these plus the complementary post light. The good news is that they look quite good now that they are up, although at this price point I’ll be happy if they last five years. The bad news is that they were an absolute nightmare to install. I’m an accomplished DIYer and have installed many light fixtures, both interior and exterior, and have never had this much trouble. To begin with we received two clearly different lots – four of which had one style mounting assembly (circular flat brass with lots of holes) and three with another (pivoting cross arms). The seeded glass was also very different between the two sets – one quite clear, the other almost opaque. Fortunately, I was able to place them on the house such that the differences are hard to notice – otherwise they would have gone back. With as many holes as were in the round brass mount, you would think they would align with the holes in any electrical box. Nope. I had to drill and file my own on order to have it centered on the box and the wood trim block. With the cross arm style, I had to bend them slightly concave into the box or the light base stuck out almost a quarter inch from the trim block. And good luck tucking the wire nuts into the box if you tightened the mounting arms down before making the connections. And then let’s mention the screws included to mount the light to the mounting assembly. At least an inch long so all 14 had to be cut by more than half and filed so the tiny cap nuts would rest flush against the base of the light and therefore hold the light securely to the trim block. Also, four sets of cap nuts were actually hexagonal and could be tightened with a small wrench. The other three sets were round, providing very limited ability to tighten other than by hand. And since the screws they were going onto had to be cut, I needed to be exceptionally careful not to cross thread them. All in all, the worst electrical installation ever. I can understand why one of the other reviews noted that even a pro found installing these lights to be a pain. It appears that Seagull has given absolutely no thought at all to it. I guess “you get what you pay for” applies to installation as well as the product. Too bad because if the install had been even remotely normal I would have given the lights five stars (again, considering the price) rather than two.
