Works
Works as it should. Helpful for diagnosing if it’s the trailer or the plug.

I recommend using a little bit of either
If you were a professional who does trailer lighting installation and repair, this is a handy item to have in one's tool box. This not only tests, but it is a through circuit, and can be plugged into the tow vehicle, as well as the trailer and lighting can be tested with lights on and directional lights going and see that you have a complete circuit connected. By the green LED lights you can immediately know that lighting is functioning properly. This device can be left in the circuit while towing a trailer, or used only for testing purposes and removed after tests are completed. To make you connection sure and water proof, I recommend using a little bit of either, Silicone dielectric grease or a product known as NoAlox which is also an electrically conductive grease. Personally i like to mix both together, and apply a light coating with a Q-Tip to the metal connectors. This helps make good connections and it also keeps water out.

IF YOU TOW A TRAILER USING A 4 FLAT CABLE YOU NEED TO STOCK A FEW OF THESE TO KEEP SANITY WHEN YOU FAIL TO GET THE PROPER LIGHTS
inexpensive tool that is easy to loose or misplace and is also easily damaged even though it looks indestructible ' I learned to buy several and place them in a clearly assigned storage I have managed to ruin more than one and do not know exactly how I did it. I would never want to be without one when it comes time to hook up the trailer just in case the trailer lights did not do as expected by telling me which end or the coupling wires contained the problem SOMETIMES IT IS ALL TRUCK WIRES TRAILER

Works, zero issues
Works exactly as claimed, left it attached inline for a 900+ mile each way trip. No problems induced by the heat, rain and dust along the way over various road conditions. Easily unplugged upon journeys end. Price seems fair

always handy to have a tester like this in your glove box if you pull trailers
always handy to have a tester like this in your glove box if you pull trailers. it helps to troubleshoot light problems. why is it that no matter how many times i install and replace lights on my trailer, there is always one not working when i hit the road?

Upside down on newer chevys
On my Chevy it's upside down and a pain to read even in the dark, I went and got a pigtail to use it. Chevy HD 2010, 2015, 2018.

It don't fit :(
It works, however, it doesn't fit. The circuit tester is square shaped but my vehicles and trailers have rounded connectors. I either have to force it in place, risking damage, or I have to cut the rubber guards off my connectors. Both options don't seem feasible...
