The smell is strong, but it is an effective dish cleaner.
I am switching my ways of cleaning towards a safer, organic, more natural approach and Seventh Generation is a well-known and trusted brand that aligns by these values; therefore, I had to give this foaming dish cleanser a try. Well, it works! Yes, it is more expensive than regular dish soap, but you’re paying for safety, so it’s worth it. Now, another detail: I’m sensitive to smells. Although the smell is not unpleasant, it is strong! That’s a downside for me, but it’s a trade off I’m willing to make for this natural, yet effective cleaner. I recommend it!

smells STRONG
I’m torn between giving this 4 and 5 stars. On one hand, it’s definitely a great nontoxic alternative to dawn’s spray and works better than a lot of nontoxic dish soaps I’ve used. On the other hand, it’s now been 30 minutes since I washed dishes and I can’t even go in my kitchen because the smell is so strong. I’m pretty sensitive to scents, so I understand this won’t necessarily be an issue for everyone, but a nontoxic alternative shouldn’t make me feel more sick than the chemical ones. I’m fine in my kitchen after using dawn, this drove me away. I’m writing this review when I should be making dinner because I can’t stand to be in the kitchen right now. My husband used it this morning and he was mostly fine with it (he does think it’s a bit too strong but he can manage to be in the same room as it). I’m not sure why they decided to go this fragrance heavy. The smell is actually great and I was really excited about how much I loved it at first, but it needs to be toned down a LOT because it had me feeling sick pretty fast. 5 stars for how it works but down to 4 because it’s probably the most obnoxious smelling cleaner I’ve ever used…

Works pretty well
This Seventh Generation Foaming Dish Spray works pretty well, but I had one problem with mine, the nozzle. No matter which way I turned the on/off tip, it simply would not spray, and I tried for awhile racking my brain for what I could be missing. After getting tired of messing with it, I simply changed the nozzle to another one I had off a different product, and voila, it worked! Because I had to change the nozzle head, mine did not foam much, but it still worked. I sprayed my air fryer pan and let it sit for about a minute. The grime wiped off pretty darn seamlessly, it honestly surprised me for how well it worked. The smell is pleasant and not too strong either. I like that this product has less chemicals than your normal de-greaser as well. I don't think I'd use this product for washing all my dishes daily, too much effort for my taste. I will however use this spray for soaking pots and pans that need a little extra something to get the crud off. Overall, this would have been a 5 star from me if the nozzle had worked.

It cleans
This is so foamy, I’ve been using these to prewash my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, as I mainly use the dishwasher to sanitize. This is much better that soap and water and way less work!

Good foaming action
I like Seventh Generation products, been using them along with Method products. This is a decent soap in performance and quantity. The spritzer head just has On or OFF. It foams pretty good with a single squeeze and it comes out with a pretty strong apple scent. The scent fades quickly and you can't really smell it on the foam, it just aerosolizes as it comes out of the sprayer. The scent is decent, and smells like a crisp apple juice if that makes any sense. Obviously artificial but not bad or chemically. There's a bunch of ingredients in this, and I'm not familiar enough to comment on whether they're good or bad so I just included a picture. It's not worse in ingredients than Dawn or other dish soaps I'd think. It foams good, smells decent, and most of all cleans decently with just a little soap so it works out for me.
