What an easy installation...
We put our old refrigerator in the basement and wanted to be able to make extra ice when needed. I had a 1/2" water line right above that was capped and was able to cut the end and pop on the sharkbite fitting. NO problems, but I was careful... A straight cut, not angled... no burrs on the end of the pipe, I smoothed them off... and made sure the fitting had fully bottomed out. Definitely recommend but proper installation is critical.

Don't call a plumber do it yourself
Don't have solder, flux and a mini torch? Not a plumber or trust your skills when soldering? OK, buy this instead. Reem the copper end with a knife so that there's no burr and slap this puppy on and turn your water on. Just make sure you push this on completely, that's all. As easy as it gets and holds city water pressure no problem. Worth the price so if you need this then just buy it already.

Worked perfect for installing new humidifier on my furnace!
Ran the pex line over there, threw this on the end. hooked up a 1/4' stainless braided hose ('ice maker hose') and it worked perfect. I like having the shut off right there by the humidifier cause it makes maintenance just a little faster. SharkBite fittings work excellent and I have yet to see one fail.

Very easy to turn and the quick connect hardware was included
Very easy to turn and the quick connect hardware was included. It only took a few spanner turns to seal it. While my application didn't call for such lush looks (these are meant for toilets) the chromed brass is pretty. The clip intended to hide the disassembly ring doubles as a removal tool if you turn it upside down ;3 For anyone worried about it, I removed this from the same pipe twice and it still seals just fine. This particular design should be able to be removed and reinserted a handful of times with no problems.

Has Anyone Else Had One Of These Leak?
Sharkbite is a premium brand when it comes to push-on fittings, so I was surprised when I pushed this guy onto some PEX tubing and it leaked. I haven't had that problem with the other Sharkbite brand valves and pressure regulator that I bought. I monitored it for a few days, and it seemed to eventually stop leaking after I fiddled with it a few times. I don't know if it is my paranoia, but it still feels damp at that connection when I touch it. Needless to say, I am replacing this fitting with a crimp on PEX tee fitting, and a compression fitting ice maker shutoff valve. The peace of mind of knowing that our plumbing will not leak was worth the extra expense.

or pex so they are great to have on hand
Local supply house did not carry these. I was adding a whole home humidifier to my house and the HVAC installer wanted to use a saddle valve. I purchase a sharbite T and one of these valves instead. These can be used for copper, pvc, or pex so they are great to have on hand. Have used several sharbite problems over many years and have never had one leak or any problems.

Fast and easy solution for inserting a stop valve into a water line.
Sharkbite is so easy and fast to use. This stop valve makes installation easy. Just cut the pipes/tubing and insert. Really good quality and very functional. We've replaced quite a bit of our 50 year old plumbing with Sharkbite. Nice to be able to repair plumbing without welding or having to use a bunch of tools.
