The Perfect Pastry mat is similar in design to the original Silpat non-stick baking Mat, but it has a specially formulated backside design, which prevents it from slipping or moving around on countertops and work surfaces. Ideal for working with messy creations. Dimensions and rulers on mat help ensure you get dough to just the right size of your recipe. Mat measures 15-1/8" W x 23" L; Durable and reusable for thousand times - just rinse with soapy hot water after use and lay flat or hang to dry; Lay flat or roll to store. Please do not use as a baking mat - not an ovensafe product. Sasa Demarle Inc. was founded in 1965 by M. Guy Demarle in Northern France. Mr. Demarle was an experienced baker who was seeking a better way to make baguette bread with forms using non-stick silicone coatings. He went on to invent the first non-stick baguette baking trays or filets, as they are known in France. A few years later, Mr. Demarle also went on to invent and create the original Silpat and is known around the world as the original non-stick baking liner. Great Dab mat!

Best dab mat you can by for your table. Good looking, easy to wipe off with rag and water, and keeps your stuff in place. Perfect not for just cooking!!!

Expensive, but high quality and worth it. Lays flat, easy to clean.

Excellent quality mat for rolling out dough or pastry. I used to have a small Silpat and leant it to someone and never got it back. They are expensive, so in the meantime, I bought a cheap plastic one at a big box store that just didn't cut it as it wouldn't stay flat. I finally bit the bullet and bought myself another Silpat, this time a larger one that fits perfectly on my counter. (Should have done that to begin with!) My only issue is it was a bit tricky getting it out of the plastic tube/box it arrived in. I decided I wouldn't store the Silpat in the box and threw it away. Instead, I roll it up, secure it with twine and store it in a kitchen drawer. It's really easy to clean. I highly recommend it.

Sticks to countertop, no more sliding when rolling

If you have the right tools, the job will be easier. This is true of the Silpat pastry mat. I had any easy time rolling the pastry and getting it off of the pastry mat onto the pie plate.
