SPORT WASH LAUNDRY DETERGENT 64 fl oz

Sport-Wash is safe for all washable fabrics and yet powerful enough to remove odors and your toughest stains such as soil, blood and grass. Its secret is that unlike other detergents designed to leave brighteners, fragrances and other residue behind, Sport-Wash rinses completely. Nothing is left on your clothing to clog the pores of your fabric. Cotton, wool and synthetic materials and left completely clean. Insulation like down, Thinsulate and Hollofil fluff up for maximum warmth. And even difficult to clean sportswear materials such as Gore-Tex have their waterproofing and breathability restored. The total risibility of Sport-Wash leaves nothing behind to smell, clog, or radiate UV glow from brighteners. While Sport-Wash does not contain phosphates to "brighten" your clothes, you'll find it does not need them because on its own it leaves fabrics cleaner than any other detergent. In addition, if you or any members of your family have sensitive skin or are allergic to the residue left behind by commercial detergents, Sport-Wash eliminates the rash, redness and irritation you've suffered through with other detergents. No more itchy, irritated skin. Sport-Wash is safe and effective even for "delicate care" fabrics. It will remove stains and odors without harming bright colors. It likely costs less per load than your regular laundry detergent and completely eliminates the need for fabric softener. Sport-Wash and Sensi-Clean are the same detergent.

Favorite laundry product
Great for spot treatment and removal. Works excellent as an additive to every load of laundry.

Pretty effective on blood
I have revised this review. At first I thought it doesn't get blood stains out but now I see that it does - just not as quickly as a previous product I used did. In the early 2000s, Nathan's sport wash in the orange bottle worked like magic to remove blood stains. But they changed their formula and now it doesn't work at all. I was hoping that Atsko's would be as good for blood but doesn't work as quickly as the old Nathan's did - I have to soak an item for a few days that used to come clean after an overnight soak with Nathan's. However Nathan's had a terrible, strong scent and this product is unscented, which I appreciate. I'm going to try Biokleen Bac-Out next.

Great way to protect DWR clothing
Protects DWR by not gunking it up with contaminants. Also good for delicates. Very concentrated; use less. More cost-effective than similar products from Nikwax or Granger's.

Cloth diaper saver
I had so many issues with getting the smell out of my cloth diapers and leaking CONSTANTLY. The other brand I used did not work. I had my diapers professionally laundered and the lady recommended this detergent. I have not had an issue with smell or leaks in the 3 months since I started using it.

Great detergent, terrible bottle
I’ve been using this since my son became a teenager, when I had to put the car window down after any practice or sport event. It’s amazing. It takes all the odor out of everything - teenager clothes, exercise clothes, mildewy towels, you name it. The one issue I have with it is the bottle. If any of the detergent gets on the label the colors run all over the place and stain anything they touch. And somehow, they made it worse recently by changing the lid so it’s horribly difficult to take off. It’s a child safe lid and I literally had to put it on the floor to get enough downward pressure to get past the child lock. I have it on a sacrificial towel now and pour directly into the washer to deal with the label issue, but the lid is impossible. I’ve gotten to the point that I just set the lid on top rather than screwing it on, which is a terrible solution because of the potential for spilling if it gets knocked over. Maybe I’ll buy a reusable container to pour it into…

Best stuff ever for your outdoor tech gear
I found Sport Wash back in 1993 when I started rock climbing, ice climbing and skiing. All these activities require special clothing and gear including base gear - underwear that's breathable and wicks moisture. Polypropylene was the fabric most used but it had one big flaw - it held odors. That's where Sport Wash comes in. It cleans completely, leaving no residue AND removes odors! I can't tell you how much I appreciated that, especially when sharing a tent. Because it leaves no residue, it's awesome for shells, waterproof or water resistant fabrics like Gore-Tex, Polartec and all breathable fabrics. I've washed my down sleeping bags and clothing with it as well as my sport bras, cycling clothing, antique quilts and fly-fishing waders. It's the ONLY detergent that has ever gotten Georgia red clay out of fabrics without pre-treating. I highly recommend it to anyone with allergies or sensitive skin as well.
