While running and racing in Europe, he continued to search for clothing more appropriate for Oregon's climate. He admired Euro-styled athletic wear, yet the fabrics were not adequate to the challenge. Then he hit upon an idea: merge the European fit with the best American fabrics. Since then, SportHill has grown to satisfy customers worldwide, designing and producing apparel that meets or exceeds the requirements of elite class athletes in various climate zones. SportHill's staff of competitive athletes and its sponsored teams--including Canada's National Olympic Cross Country Ski Team, XC Oregon and Team XO Olympic development teams, and the USA Mountain Racing Team--continually test, innovate, refine, and improve SportHill clothing.

Not What I Expected
The fabric doesn't have much suppleness to it. For polyester fleece, it's stiff. The abrasive surface of it attracts every bit of lint it can see, and I can tell it will pill. If the fit was great I could overlook all of that, but it's not for me. I love the high waist, but the deal breaker is the lack of a crotch gusset combined with the stiff fabric. It feels obtrusive to the male privates. Not comfortable. There's no way I wear these by themselves below 20 degrees if there is some wind, they block some, but you also lose a lot of body heat through the fabric in any wind from evaporative cooling. They're just not what I imagined them to be.

Comfortable, warm, great look and fit, from a winter workout to lounging by the fire
I love these pants. I bought them for XC skiing, but use them for all winter activity. I ended up buying a pair for each of my adult children as presents, and they all love them. One of my son's who is a junior i college told me he wouldn't mind if I were to buy him another 4 or 5 pairs because they are so comfortable. Pros: - Fit is great. I'm 6'6" and it's great to get a pair of sport pants that are long enough for me! In fact, most workout pants come down to the tops of my ankles (frustrating) - Very comfortable, nice and warm but light-weight. I bought these for XC skiing and running in the winter. Breathable but nice and warm, not oppressively warm because they are great for lounging around the house on a cold winter day - able to jump in the car, run errands, look great, feel great, and then head to the park to ski. They've become my comfort pants during the winter. Cons: - mine collect lint and dog hair more than any other clothes that I own. My son's aren't as bad, but he has never accidentally dried his. I've thrown mine in the dryer before with a dryer sheet to get lint and hair off, and while better, not everything is gone. sometimes it feels like Velcro for lint. - price - I really struggle to pay $100 for a pair of workout pants. I'd buy 2 or 3 if the price was 30% less.

The coziest pants ever!
I have purchased these pants for every member of our family and they are a favorite! We live in the mountains and they really are multi-purpose, cross country skiing, walking the dog, running around town, or grooming our horses. Not only do they provide warmth, but the fit is just right. They wash beautifully and hang dry quickly!

Great winter running pant; terrible size options.
Following extensive research to find a winter running pant - I did not want tights - I opted for these. They are terrific for freezing (below 0 Celsius, 32 F) running. They are very warm, prevent wind chill, and do not chaff. The downside is that they trap heat, so you'll want to use them only on the coldest of winter runs. The real issue with this product is the sizing. If this product is targeted a at an athletic population, then they should have a size (Small-Tall) that is designed to fit close for my 5"10, 150lbs (34" measured inseam) build. They don't. I opted for the Small (sized to fit up to 5"8) and it works okay. I need long socks to keep my ankles warm - which do get exposed a little on runs. If you are small and taller than 5"10, I advise you to look elsewhere.

Comfort and Durability
I bought the pant last month, so far very happy with what I got.

My all-time favorite Nordic skiing pants.
These are my third pair of these in 25 years, which speaks to durability. (One pair sadly died prematurely because these should NOT be dried in a drier. They shrink.) I am sad that they only come in black, but they are warm, wind-proof, durable, comfortable and my go-to Nordic ski pants. I add light long underwear when the temp is under 20 Fahrenheit and heavier long underwear when the temp is under 10. Rarely need wind pants.

living in them
I bought a pair to use for cross country skiing. Tried it for few day and really liked the fit and ordered another. I literally live in them this for the last two month. It is warm and stretchy, easy off and on, love the zipped ankle, and slim fit. The first thing to put on in the morning for yoga, walk and hike and yes skiing too. Only complaint I have is the waist draw string. One side tends to get lost into the elastic waist, but it was fished out with stick or thin needle nose pliers. Don't know how long these will last, but they are holding up to daily use. Oh yeah, these pants likes cat hair and lint alot.

THE PERFECT WINTER CYCLING PANTS
If you don't know. These are your top of the line winter cycling tights. These things keep me comfortable down to about 18f without having to wear thermals. They normally retail for $105. So I think this is about the lowest your going to find them. Go to their website and check out their fine line of Winter clothing. No, I do not work for Sporthill. I'm just a dude who rides everyday all winter. And I know what works for me. And Sporthill makes some of the best Winter Cross Country Ski clothing out there. Some of it's not cheap, but it will last you for many years. Get em' while there hot !
