Perfect for Yogurt
Reviewing after first use. [SAFETY WARNING for yogurt newbies: I was using store bought soy milk from a sterilized shelf-stable container, so I did not have to do the typical first step of sterilizing the milk. If you are NOT using shelf-stable milk (like in a tetrapac), you MUST do the sterilization step first.] I microwaved (in a glass bowl) 2 quarts of soy milk to 117F. I added this and starter, but no thickeners, into the pot. I latched it down, and left it on the countertop in the kitchen (ambient temp was in the 50's-60's overnight, and 70's in the day). At 9 hrs, surface of yogurt was 87F. At 18 hrs, surface was 79F, center was 84F. Yogurt came out exactly the way I like it! (Spoons up like store bought yogurt, but doesn't hold that gel state after blending. But after blending, still a good deal thicker than buttermilk or keffir.) With my old method, described below, to get this same thickness I would have to have kept the milk around 160F for a few hours first. I was able to skip that time consuming step with the Stanley. Pouring it into jars when done: I use an immersion blender to homogenize it first so it is more pourable (hard to pour when in a blobby gel state). It was still as messy as pouring from the crock pot (my old method) as neither is made for pouring, but it was much smaller, easier, and lighter to handle than pouring from the crock pot. This Stanley pot will now replace my old way which was: putting soy milk in pressure cooker at "keep warm" setting for several hours or overnight, allowing it to cool to ~120F in the AM, warming crock pot on high for 6 minutes, adding milk and culture at ~120F to crock pot, putting crock pot (metal part and all) inside insulated shipping box, waiting 12-24 hrs. I never checked the 9 and 18 hr temps on this old method. It worked fine, but the giant box was taking up so much space in my kitchen when in use, and I hated getting it from the basement once a week. The Stanley is so unobtrusive, lightweight, and easy to wash (compared to crock pot), and it easily fits in a kitchen cabinet. I'm very happy. I'll update if I notice any problems, since this was only my first use.

An Elegant Alternative
This was an unexpected purchase for an unexpected purpose. And it worked perfectly. My brother needed an elegant way to help his guests conserve water. So we purchased this pot for the bathroom counter. He puts clean white face towels into the pot (orderly) pours in hot water and a few drops of essential oil and replace the top. For the next 12 hours he has hot towels for his guests. He needs only to freshen the container with towels and or hot water. Simple, safe and elegant.

What about this warming stainless cooler from no longer ar.
Ok,folks you are correct about the four lid snaps. I can see that it can have a problem with the snaps breaking off. I am a ingenious inventer. Look up Amazon for pull downs. Ok there is cheap pull down kids pull down snap down plastic straps. Al so there is a way to drill a hole on plastic cooler side an screw in a metal small screw on side with tough glue applied on screw head threads an then attach a snap down clamp on the side of. With Amazon there is always some type of clamp doun replacement. Now folks rremember to place on the jug bottom of all your Stanley containers the handy dandy thick stick on bottom rubber to large 2 inch runner pads to protect drops from on high.

Won’t Be Disappointed
I love this thing! I used it every day. It’s perfect in size and it’s beefy durability wise. Keeps my food nice and hot. The price is great!! Two of my coworkers have bought one by now and a third said he will too; they are all excited about theirs as well.

Great idea, bad implementation, good service.
Updated Review: I wish I could go to the Stanley website and purchase replacement parts for all their items. That's not possible, however support did eventually get back to me and offered to replace the lid under warranty despite the item being two years old and the damage not directly being their fault. I really like the idea of this and when it works, it works amazingly well. I bumped up to four stars because Stanley replaced the problematic lid for me. Original review: Great idea. Bad implementation. I've had two of these and I love the idea of them. On the first one, the hinges/clips eventually broke off. I compounded the problem by putting the lid in the dishwasher. Don't do that! I bought another one, 'cause I love the idea of this thing. Someone dropped it, it fell on the handle, and cracked the lid. You would think the Stanley website would carry spare parts, but it doesn't. This is an expensive item and I don't intend to turn it into landfill material because the lid is cracked...but I would like to buy another lid. I contacted support to buy another lid and received a message back saying they would be delayed.

Good Thermal Pot for a Picnic
This thermal pot is good for a picnic/potluck and will keep your food or drink warm or cold for about a half a day. It is easy to carry and pack in your car. It is not a Yeti but is a good value for its price point. There are 4 catches to lock the lid on which look like they need to be treated with care, but should last the life of the pot. Overall, worth the cost and I would rate it as a buy.
