Keeping: Size & Scene for Price
Here's the deal...this is no doubt an inexpensive and CHEAP piece of wall art, but for me, it serves a purpose adequately, so I decided to keep it. I was looking for inexpensive wall art to hang in a guest room which is used abt once a month and am prioritizing better quality items for more visible rooms in our home. The "canvas" doesn't at all feel like actual canvas...I'm not sure what the material actually is - I can only describe it as a finely woven, very thin piece of fabric vs a thicker canvas which I typically see (even for cheaper quality wall art canvases). But, if it this a type of canvas, it is sooo thin that the wood structure behind the art is visible; however, once hung on a wall, it's obscured. The scene itself seems to be maybe digitally printed on the fabric as there are zero visible brush strokes - it's a very two dimensional piece with NO texture - almost like a silk-screened t-shirt. So overall, the art is very cheap looking but adds visual interest to the room - it's Really pretty imo. So although none in my circles are patrons of fine art, I wouldn't hang this in a gathering space in my home. Pros: • Subjective, but Really pretty, very serene scene with lovely colors • The Size for Price is crazy attractive (I got the 40" x 40" for abt fifty bucks.) Cons: It's no giclee, nor is it even a cheap canvas gobbed up with excess paint; it is however, a thin piece of fabric with a scene screened on similar to a shirt - no texture or dimension. The fabric is so thin and light that it's not pulled tight across the wood frame. I'm lust guessing that it's because it's at risk of being torn if pulled more tightly. With movement, the fabric sort of waves within the frame, but once stationary on the wall, it's still/no movement detected. There is not an excess of fabric, but it's just sort of flimsily constructed. Fortunately it's AP free Rtn shipping, so if you are interested, it's without risk to see if it will work for your needs.
