Almost perfect metal pet / baby gate

Seldom do I write reviews, but I feel almost obligated to do so with this metal "baby" gate. Now, my "baby" is a female cat who loves to explore. The setup is truly easy, and once you have it properly adjusted, one-handed operation is as easy as it should be, considering the fact that it is designed to be difficult for small children - as it should be. I can't say enough about just how simple it is to install and use. Especially useful when you need to protect on a porch over a stairway! The "only swing one way" is the default setup, but it's easy to remove the stop block so it swings in or out. 100%+ if that's possible...

Best purchase this month!

When we first moved to our home previous owners had one similar for their dog. So it can roam the back deck. We have adopted two rescue dogs that need to be confined and since we don’t have a fenced back yard this was the perfect upgrade. I even got one for the front door rails.

Great Quality and Customer Service

These gates are just what we wanted: a design and color that goes with our interior molding (off-white), well-made and easy to use. Instead of cheap-looking baby gates, these look quality and definitely are. Plus the customer service from this company is wonderful. We had a part that arrived broken, and after reaching out to them via telephone, they made it right no problem. We will definitely purchase from them again if ever in need of more baby gates!

Very well made, but

I was very impressed when my wife found this particular gate. And when I received it and started to install it, all was going well, UNTIL, one of the side extensions would not mesh since the factory installed the pin plug upside down. So of course I called and it was a Friday so Customer Service was closed. Once I finally realize exactly what the problem was, I very carefully (and with much difficultly), was able to pry out the plastic plug and reverse its position. Pounded the plug back in and all is well. So I would have gladly given this product a 5 start if it weren't for one person in their factory installing the plug incorrectly. Updated after a month of use...the only downside is that it is made in China. Would prefer if it was made in the US, but this is still one of the best designed and made product I have purchased in a long time. Strongly suggest this gate for your children and/or pets.

Well made and worth the money

This gate is well made and high enough that my pup can’t jump over it. It also looks great. It fits in with my decor. You may find a cheaper gate but not one any nicer. Worth the money.

Great quality with a couple of quirks

First off, seems like a great quality item. Super solid to me when installed w/o cups on a 45" opening. Problems we had were the unlatching... push the button and pull up is awkward and not needed. Second, the real issue for us was the GAPS at the bottom. The vertical rails need to go all the way to the bottom. This looks nice, but our 10 week old puppy put his head through one of those holes/gaps at the bottom immediately and I knew it had to go back. Bought the Aboil and it's great. Problems solved.

I like this but 1 side tightener does seem to losen up fairly often which then makes it unsteardy sometimes

Muy buen producto, primero creí que no funcionaba la puerta, pero me faltaba ajustar un poco más.

Leyendo las reseñas vi algunos comentarios de que las exensiones no funcionaban o que estaba muy frágil, sin embargo creo que si no lo instalas con cuidado y bien no funcionará del todo. La compré para que mi perro no entre a la concina, pues le gustó para hacer pipi, no tuve que montarla solo la puse a presión y funciona. La puerta es verdad que no es tan sencilla de abrir, pero entiendo que es como seguro para bebés, de lo contrario sería muy fácil abrir y si abres completamente se detiene para cuando no tenga que estar cerrada. Si la puerta está muy rígida tal vez está muy ajustada. Toma en cuenta lo siguiente: Si algo no te funciona es porque algo estás haciendo mal, las extensiones deben quedar perfectamente ancladas para que no se doble, y la puerta debe ajustarse muy bien para que funcione correctamente. Me animé a comprarlo a pesar de que hay otros más económicos por las reseñas y porque tiene extensiones suficientes para un espacio un tanto amplio, incluso me sobró una extensión. Otras puertas solo funcionan para puertas estándar y si quieres ponerla en un corredor amplio difícilmente se podrá ensamblar. Estoy satisfecha con la compra y compré otro, además se ve bien y parece parte de la casa. Excelente producto.

Perfect!

We got this gate to keep our puppy from going downstairs to our basement (once learned the steps, it became his new place to pee), and from running out the front door. Makes it soooo much easier to bring the groceries in without worry! It was easy to install, and doesn’t look terrible! Takes a little getting used to using it as you have to release the latch, and lift the gate to open. Easy enough with one hand. When my pup grows up and learns his boundaries - we might remove the gate. Maybe.

Does the job

I've been looking for a baby gate that is sturdy and stylish. We got the black gate and it matches our black railing very nicely. We mounted this baby gate at the top of the stairs. It is sturdy even without drilling it into the wall. The instructions weren't that straightforward- really took some time to figure out. It does need 2 people to put together. I also found the door to be quite narrow.

Es difícil de abrir

Me gusto que está alta y ancha, (por esto la compre) pero para abrir la puerta tienes que físicamente levantar la puerta, esto hace muy difícil poder abrirla con una sola mano, también se notan demasiado las puntadas en donde fue soldada, si fuera como la otra que tengo que se puede abrir con una sola mano estaría más contenta con esta compra.

Brilliant!

It looks and works great! It was a simple installation, and was up in no time at all! It’s heavy and solid, and despite the long walk, was delivered right to my front door! It’s secure which was a big concern, and I am relying solely on pressure! I was looking for an attractive pressure gate, with security, height and an easy install… that’s exactly what I received! The auto shut was a bonus and it arrived quickly! Well worth the money! If my opinion changes, I will write an update, but for now, I am thoroughly pleased!
