Great Transfer Pump
I was looking for cordless water transfer pump because I have a garage without mains water, so I’ve installed water tank and now had to fill it in somehow. So my choice was to periodically bring in small water canisters and transfer it to bigger tank using transfer pump. All cordless pumps I’ve looked at were a bit pricey, until I came across this Sun Joe Water Transfer Pump. Because I already own another cordless Sun Joe products I’ve decided to order this pump despite not very good review rating, and it’s a great pump. I have few 2.4AH batteries, and they last good amount of time. It says that pump doesn’t have to be primed, but I would advise to fill its nozzles with water, it helps pump to have a smoother start, especially when it is little stuck after last use. It comes with oil, which you need to put (3 drops) into nozzle before and after use, in my opinion it doesn’t really help, but I still do it just in case, I might be wrong, maybe it helps. Amount of oil it comes with is small, so I will be looking for pump oil soon, and if you are buying this pump, order some spare pump oil in advance, if you are planning to use it more than once a week. For the price, build quality is acceptable. I would definitely recommend it to those who are looking for water transfer pump at affordable price, even with battery set it is cheaper than competitors (excluding no-name stuff which is always kind of a lottery, it might be good, but more often its bad).

Works great but GET THAT WARRANTY!!!
The media could not be loaded. This little pump is strong and super light and way more powerful than you’d expect for a battery operated tool. I am using it to pump water from my 55 gallon rain barrels from a garden spigot to water my urban garden. Works great once you get it hooked up and charge the batteries. It’s kinda loud and I’m able to water half my garden on a full battery, so definitely worth it to get an extra battery. Switching out is easy. I was able to hook up two hoses (75 &25 ft) and garden strayer nozzle and have good water pressure comparable to a house garden tap. It’s light and easy to store, it can get hot so maybe place it in a shady location. REGISTER IT UNDER WARRANTY ONLINE!!! The first one I got stopped working (no clue) but once I registered for the warranty online, you email them and they sent me a new one in about a week with no questions asked really. That process was pretty easy so that was good. New one is working great! That and the battery life are the main reason for 4 stars.

Great for watering or transfer of water from rain barrels
Was looking at other tools that used the same battery as my mower and found this pump. It works very well for watering the plants from our rain barrels. Very nice solution.

Used to water garden
The media could not be loaded. Hooked this up to our rain barrel where we would fill a watering can to water the garden. Bought this to speed up the process of watering. This pump works off of a battery that seems to last pretty long. Only charged it twice and takes about 10 to 15 minutes to water the garden.

Total waste.
ABSOLUTE CRAP. I GOT THREE IN RETURNS AND THE PUMP MOTOR DID NOT TURN IN ANY. Battery worked well, light came on, pump squealed and made an odor as if it was trying to burn out. Cannot even give one star. Nothing like the videos. Could get no help from Sun Joe except two returns that also failed.

JUNK FROM THE START
Installed fully-charged battery. Would not start, let alone pump. Locck-up inside, apparently. Light comes on, then goes off. Burning smell! Returning.

Noisy and not very powerful
My house is old and situated at the bottom of some hills and despite my efforts, water tends to flood into my garage when it rains which is an ongoing source of frustration. I’ve tried using a wet/dry vac to suck up the water before but it fills to fast and needs to be dumped and just can’t keep up. So I was hoping a sump pump would be a better solution and it is in someways but it’s not a silver bullet. This pump works, so there’s that. I like that it’s battery operated so you don’t have to worry about electrical cables which gives it a lot of flexibility but unfortunately also means it’s got a very limited run time. If you have extra Sun Joe batteries on hand, that’s not as much of an issue. This comes with a suction hose and you’ll need to attach your own hose to it to direct water elsewhere. I connected a hose to mine to run water out to the street because if it goes out in my driveway it would all just run back downhill into my garage again. I don’t really like the hose that came with this pump, it’s stiff and it easily unscrews itself from the pump and tends to leak. The puddle attachment is ok but I wish it was heavier or had suction cups on the bottom or something to help keep it from lifting and sucking in air. Despite it’s small size this pump is very noisy. It’s obnoxiously loud. The pump does work but I think for the price there are better options available.
