Great Product — Better than the last version

We owned the previous version of this fryer (the one with the oil filtration system—that T-Fal still produces), however managed to lose the power cord during a move to our new home. We weren’t able to purchase a replacement one and decided instead to purchase a new fryer and went with this version over the new oil filtration one. We’re glad we did. If you’ve owned the oil filtration model, you’ll know that there are issues with cleaning it — you can’t disassemble the filtration module for deep cleaning. With time and use, the mechanism gums up and it just becomes painful to maintain — totally negating the usefulness of the oil filtration/saving. The other downside of that version is that the frying well/window tends to fog from the condensation from whatever you’re frying. The evaporative contents also tend to drop back into the well leading to an inconsistency in the frying temp/mechanism as well. All in all it had decent performance, but left one wanting for more. This version of the fryer doesn’t have the oil filtration (but honestly we could do without it considering the pitfalls of the previous iteration/model), but has a deep well that’s easy to clean and empty after use. The frying well itself doesn’t condensate because of the airflow mechanism that allows the moisture to vent out of the machine and also reduces some of the odor. This also helps because there is a more consistent frying temp (due to the fact that the moisture isn’t building up and dripping back/spattering into the oil). The cons — the system is not completely odor-free (though to be honest, does anyone really believe it would be?), and a bit noisy (think air fryer). We definitely recommend it over T-Fals other model—it was an excellent purchase that we wish we’d had the option of making when we first needed a fryer.

As good as I hoped for!

I targeted this a year ago after a lot of research and waited patiently until I got it on a flash sale. We are all super happy with this fryer. Its bigger than anticipated in that its comfortably wide compared to my old Cuisinart machine. The basket is also wider obviously which means I have more capacity for good clean frying with clean edges and without food sticking to other food. Two big soft shell crabs tempura no problem at all. Clam strips also easy as can be. Its not super deep but Its deep enough if you fill to the top line. Its modular when disassembled so very easy to clean. The oil strainer and drain works well and lo and behold the oil is in the plastic removable storage container and ready for the fridge until next time! I do wish it reheated faster in between batches but that's a problem with all home fryers given the limitations of how much power you can devote to it. It is not a flaw or anything, and it is easy to adapt to it once you get a sense of how fast the oil reheats for the next batch and how much you can safely cook at a time. My wife hates all fryers (and frying in a pan) but she really likes this one. 'Nuff said I guess. I highly recommend it to all.

Blown away

So I wasn’t expecting this to be as bad ass as it is, but TFAL did not disappoint with this deep fryer with oil filtration. I received the deep fryer yesterday and fried 36 fresh party wings (in 2 batches) for a small get together. I used 3 40oz bottles of crisco canola oil, which brought it to just about the max line. This thing performed perfectly! But the best part was I didn’t have to toss out the oil I used. The filtration system works phenomenal! I refilled the oil containers with the filtered oil and stored in a cool dark place. If I can remember, I’ll provide a 1 month update as I don’t deep fry that often. If you are looking to purchase a deep fryer you’ve found it. You won’t regret the purchase.

Great deep fryer

I bought this 2 years ago and it is great. I really like the way it frys food and keeps temperature. When I would deep fry on my stove with a dutch oven, temperature dropped and with an electric stove top it was hard to control. It isn't exact on temperature but close enough for fish, french fries, and appetizers. I am very happy with how you can filter the oil. Can't stand the smell of oil lingering in the house but once it cools and filters the oil and puts it in the reservoir I can't smell it at all ( I also have to wash the parts that are washable but duh) Great little unit. Only cons I have had and both are my fault is.. I don't have a great place to store it because of its size and one time when pouring the oil back into the fryer from the reservoir, I didn't open the drain valve from the main fryer area on the reservoir and the top popped off in one spot because of pressure but hasn't happened again. I hope Tfal keeps making this model so when this one does break I can get a good replacement and not a piece of crap.

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT

I've used this fryer at least 8 time. My teenage son's his friends are over ver often and from fries, to mozzarella sticks to fried chicken wings..... they are ecstatic that they don't have to wait long for food. The fry basket is a great size! For me, because I am the clean-up crew; I love that the machine filters the bad/used oil for me and stores it in a basket below, which allows me to just clean the debris from the oil tub. Then I can dump the filtered clean oil back into the oil tub. AMAZING!! If I had to say one not so positive feature but a necessary one, is the fryer will shut off after a period of time and need to be reset... So keep en eye on it.
