Tape

I have used this, and I have used Gorilla Tape. This might be the only tape I found that I think is stronger than Gorilla, at least the tape part. The adhesive might be a touch stronger, but there isn't much difference. The real strength is in the tape part itself.

Really Strong.

Really solid. Notably stronger than standard T-rex. I feel like the adhesion is the same as T-rex or .. Maybe not as good(?) but, i used it for a big job.. It just wont break. Holding up part of the ceiling in my game room till i can get it fixed. I used small screws on it to tack it in place. It's ridiculous. Definitely Recommend for giant jobs. 80% of the time, I'm still gonna grab standard T-rex.

Good, but not incredibly great

I bought this because it is supposed to be the strongest and most adhesive duck tape around. It is a good tape, but not as great as I imagined. The tape itself is thicker than your usuall tape, but the adhesive seems to be as good as any other. Not remarkably sticky. In a nutshell, it is a good tape, but I expected more.

Not that sticky.

I am looking for the old style cloth tape.. I had several rolls from the 80's. It was very tough and sticky.. It is still working on things . The new stuff,, and this is not the only one I have tried,, is cheap and much lighter and not as sticky. I have it on some outdoor stuff now and it has already peeled. The old stuff is still holding on A/C lines from 20 years ago.. I had ten rolls of the old stuff.. Thought I would never run out.

Do not Buy This Unless You Need The Chuck Norris Of All Duct Tape

Very heavy duty product. I would not use it for simple ducts. But if you need to patch an Abrams tank, this is for you.

Adhesive is weak

While the product is very strong in terms of not tearing, the adhesive is very poor for a heavy duty tape. Regular T Rex Tape has a much better adhesive. And the cost is very high for the quality of product.

Unbreakable.

In terms of durability, this tape blew everything else I own out of the water. Damn near impossible to tear by hand. I just wish it was a just tad bit stickier if I’m being honest.

Tough - Bad Adhesion

I buy this tape because of its inherent strength but use gorilla tape for making it stick. The combination is better than professionally made patches; it's one of my secrets. The two make a perfect match. Stick your Raptor Tape on top of your Ape Tape and you got the best of both worlds. I use those on stuff where toughness is required, makes great patches and the teenager in me is thinking of a thousand and one pranks to do with those. However, the adult in me, wants to tape my teen-aged self, to a tree, using this tape.

Strong but stiff

Yes, this is incredibly strong but lacks the flexibility that comes with thinner tapes. When you start a wrap be sure it's on an angle. If you start a straight wrap and then try to move along an item this tape will bunch up terribly and the tape then has gaps where there is no sticking or adhesion. Recommend but use carefully to avoid the gapping issue.

The self adhesion just missed the mark

This product lived up to most of my bidding. The adhesion was pretty good as a gripping and self-gripping tap and the stretch promised assistance in that regard. My disappointment came when the above three features needed to be equally consistent when combined. When put together to contain water pressure from a pool pump along a pipeline at leaking joints, the temporary fix using the tape bulged instead and found its way to the tape's seams. The stretch element contained the pressure, but the thickness needed more stiffness to prevent the adhesion from stretching at the tape edges. I turned off the pump and took another approach to containing the leak.

A BIT DISAPPOINTED

I looked through reviews on duct tape and decided to buy this item as it seemed to have the best overall reviews, but I am a bit disappointed. I needed it to use outside on several items and within ten days, I have already had to rehang one item with more tape and I see a second item is now preparing to fall. So, for the cost of this tape, it wasn't worth it to me.
