Great Experience From Supplier, Be Careful With Installation

I purchased these hooks because the local store did not have as many as I needed. They were easy to find from this supplier and they were delivered on time and in full. The biggest issue is that the material the hooks are made of is brittle. I followed the instructions for installing them in wood and used the recommended drill size. However when screwing the hooks in, they grabbed so tightly, and the torque became so much, that the threaded shaft sheared and broke. I verified that I was using the right drill size, installed another one and the same result. This experience happened on (3) hooks in total including when I used a 1/16" larger drill than recommended.

Expected better quality

I purchased 4 of these. Just hand screwing them into wood and two of them broke off. At almost $7.50 a piece I expected better quality. Will not be purchasing anymore of these.

Look for a different brand.

Similar issue as the others. I gave it three stars on install and ease of use because there is nothing special about these. Drill a hole twist in hook. However, if you try to make it flush the screw end just snaps off. This was being installed in a wood beam with a 3/16 pilot hole.

Snapped while screwing it in - ruined my project!

Broke instantly and ruined my project. After carefully pre-drilling a hole in my project to add this VersaHook, it snapped during hand tightening - with the screw end stuck in my project and the hook in my hand. Don't believe even the 35lbs of force, much less the "Holds up to 75lb." in wood.
