Get a grip
Ordered these screws to use as boot cleats. They worked perfectly. I measured, marked precisely, and predrilled undersized holes careful not to penetrate completely through the sole. Then I dabbed E-6000 adhesive into the holes before twisting in the the screws and tightening them down. The grip on my boots now are amazing. They work very well on winter days when you don’t want to bust your ass on ice. Which is why I came up with the plan of using these screws on my boots in the first place. I could spend 50 dollars on actual boot spikes, spend 20 to 30 on rubberized grip cleats that mount to the bottom of boots, ...or I could just spend a couple dollars on these gutter screws. I think I made the right choice. I bet my choice lasts longer than the others. Plus, when you order your gutter screws, just calculate a few extra screws so you will always have replacements. Which I have never needed to replace any of mine yet. I’ll leave a photo showing how I did my lay out of screws when I got them finished. No, I can’t tell you how great these screws are for your gutters, but I can tell you they worked out perfectly for my needs. Would I suggest these screws to others? Yes, to anybody that needs some boot spikes. (Keep in mind, I measured the thickness of the sole for each place I planned on putting a screw in, so I would know the length of screws that i should order.) If you buy screws that are longer than the thickness of the area of sole you plan on putting a screw, you will accidentally penetrate completely into the shoe. You don’t want that to happen. So plan ahead and take some measurements. Figure out the safest length to buy. Not only would you not want them going all the way into the boot, you don’t want the screws to be too short and never hold into the sole without them popping out. Adding some adhesive like I did will help out with that just to be on the cautious side. I think they visually look great too. Reminds me of some of the old logger boots or lineman boots. I know this probably wasn’t the review you were expecting to find here, but maybe it might come in handy for you or somebody you know. = 5 star gutter screws!!!
