Seem great except for the flimsy wick cover's chain

I'm sure we will like these as replacements to our older copper kettle shaped metal ones. The old ones got some water inside, corroded and leaked. The body seems to be a cast synthetic, which I hope does not crack over time in the hot Texas sun but of course will not corrode. The included fuel can, which lifts right out, has a top that screws on / off and seems like a good idea. It should stay dry inside IF one keeps the included wick cover on in the rain. Our squirrels like to knock our wick covers off, but its chain should keep it from getting lost. The wick of course comes out of the fuel can top and the cover goes over the wick. Any rain will run off the fuel can cover into the body (outside the can) and there are 3 drain holes in the bottom of the body. I don't know if the exterior bottom of the fuel cans will rust with time. The cans pop right out, so I think I'll give them a nice extra coat of Rustoleum spray paint. I need to check and see if I want to order replacements now. Do be aware, as others note, that the wick cover has an attached chain that attaches to the pole just below the body. I don't think the photos show this. The chains are incredibly flimsy, so I do not recommend buying these unless you plan to remedy that when received. Otherwise the chain will inevitably break, the wick cover will get knocked off, and you may not readily find it and/or get rain inside the fuel via the wick. One chain broke when I was just handling the items on my bench, without even being stretched out. In my case I was luck that my old kettle style had similar wick covers with a small strong chain, so I simply took the new chains off the tab in the new pole and attached the old better chains. If I did not have that option, I would have used the new wick cover and replaced the chain with some small but adequate chain, with a goal of finding a non-rusting type. So, I recommend these, but only if you plan to replace the inadequate chains.

Works great and last all night about 8 hours of flame.

The media could not be loaded. Unless you have compacted soil it’s a little shaky so be careful where you put them. It’s worth the money… I’m not easy to please and I’m happy. Enjoy and please be careful where you put them, most people don’t realise how high the flames go. Enjoy safely

Nice looking and functional

These are attractive and well built torches. The canisters come out easily for refilling. I would like to have had a larger canister -- the ones I am replacing were larger which meant less refilling. I also liked the clear canisters in my old ones better than these black ones.The clear made them easier to fill. With these I have to pour out the contents into a measuring cup then fill the cup up to 16 ounces and pour the contents back into the canister. Not too much trouble but still prefer the clear containers so that I could see the contents as I filled them. These are much nicer looking than my old ones and I believe they will last longer. I use one of them without the pole and will point out that the wick cover that is used to snuff out the flame and protect the wick from getting wet in the rain is attached to the top section of the pole so it has to be unhooked and used without the little chain that secures it to the pole. Loosing it is a possibility since it is not attached. The chains connected to the pole were loose so I wrapped them with black electrical tape to keep secured to the pole. I was afraid to bend the little hook too much because it looked so fragile. These do help reduce the amount of insects flying around the patio and add to the ambiance in the evening. Sadly the price of fuel is very high now, more than doubled in about two years, so that is a factor when it comes to how many of these things you might want to use. it takes about $15 worth of fuel to fill four of these. I estimate that they will burn for 6-8 hours if the wick is set at about one inch. I received one of the torches that was damaged and returned it. I think that if one of these falls over and lands on the hard surface of the patio it will crack. The outside container is fragile.

Beautiful tiki torches

I really love these torches! They are made from very study materials, and was assembled in about a minute or less. Not only are they beautiful, but they are multifunctional. You can use them on a tabletop or stake them in the ground. They have also held up in place through 2 rough storms so far. Great purchase at a great price.

Great accent product

Yes, easy to assemble but wobbly. I set it on a second base. When attached to pole it's better. Haven't tried handrail attachment yet. Keeps bugs away.

Exactly what I was looking for

Love these torches and ability to customize size for different parts of the garden. I bought 6 of them and they’re exactly what I was looking for after tossing our ugly broken down bamboo tiki torches. I bought the stakes elsewhere for a fraction of the cost that was being advertised on Amazon, however.

Good looking lamp however…

The 3 piece poll looks like a bow once assembled, mounting bracket is very flimsy. Would recommend zip ties if looking to attach to rail or what have you.
