UPDATED - Looked for boots for a year...
I looked for a year for comfortable but strong, protective boots; not in construction and not brutal on my boots so this review may not be of use to you if you are. Tried many different brands and sizes and even gave up looking for a few months. After a significant amount of additional research I chose this Helix to try. It is, hands down, the finest boot I've ever owned. The anti-fatigue feature is great and the boot fits very well. I initially thought it did not have a steel/composite protective toe but it sure seems to. The toe box on the left boot at one point felt a little off, as though it was canted off plumb with the boot however over time this seemed to decrease or self-remedy. The leather (or faux leather) upper marks and scrapes easily so don't expect them to look brand new very long. I've only had these about 1 month and they still look good but with obvious cosmetic blemishes. Krylon spray paint dripped on them and when cleaned within five minutes came off without leaving a mark (the spots I didn't see and were able to dry can be scratched off, but leave an obvious lighter looking leather spot in that location). Laces and hardware function well, particularly the one anchor point on either side of the boot - better for me than two or more on some other boots. Makes getting in and out of them a snap. Wish the hardware was metal though; (EDIT - the hardware is metal, my mistake) I'm concerned that over the long haul the plastic might give up the ghost (EDIT - main concern at this point is that the anchor points seem to want to try and work out of the leather at the top - hasn't happened, just seems to be wearing and flexing a great deal). Sole grips well on all surfaces I've tried (concrete, leaves, grass, dirt/mud, asphalt, wood, in all weathers), is resilient. I had to have a notched heel to grip ladders or other items - solid flat sole was not an option for me. I have not submerged the boot, so I cannot say if it is waterproof or not. The two most important factors for me in a boot, in order of importance, are comfort and ruggedness. If you have similar needs I would recommend trying this one. If I remember correctly Timberland has a 30 day return guarantee if you're not satisfied. Hope this was of some help. UPDATE - Still going great with some minor faults - the thin cloth (cosmetic) that covers the insole has worked loose to some degree, outside really showing wear and tear and scrapes (not a big deal to me, but if you want your to look brand new for ever, it ain't happening with this boot). Still the best I've ever owned. Bought a back up pair already and they're sitting in the closet ready).

They've gotten bigger
4 years ago I bought a pair of these in size 11. Like most boots they were tight and uncomfortable at first until they got broken in, and it took like a month for them to get completely broken in, and then they became the most comfortble pair of footwear that I've ever owned. After about 4 years, I've wore them completely out (they would have lasted much longer, but I do a lot of work around harsh chemicals and spills have happened. It's bad for the leather I guess). So i bought another pair in a size bigger (11.5) to avoid the uncomfortable first few weeks. Big mistake. Now with the extra room, it allows my heel to rub inside the boot and ive taken them off after work to find blood on my socks a few times. So i forked out ANOTHER $150 to order a pair in the "correct" size for me, which is 11. And I'm wearing them for the first time today and I can already tell they're gonna be an issue with having too much room. Even in the "proper" size for me, my heel rubs. I'm only 2 hours into my 12 hour shift today and it's already getting painful. Maybe eventually I'll try a 10.5 to see how they fit, but for right now, I'm disappointed.

Overall good boot
Had to add o piece of 1/16 rubber sheet to the heal of boot. It runs the heal, and makes a blister. But other than that, it's a good boot! No sore feet even after ten hours working on concrete. Very soft, and cushiony, feels like walking on soft dirt. I'm glad I bought them dispite the heal issue I have.

Timberland Boots
I have been wearing Timberland antifatigue shoes for many years. They are the most comfortable work shoes you can get if you are on your feet all day

Simply the best Timberland Boot. My fifth pair over 12 years! I beat boots up badly too.
Don't usually write reviews but this boot deserves an award. Very comfortable and takes a beating like no other.

Good but not, that good.
Bought them for the construction site, meaning all day use. I expected to be better in terms of ankle fit. Also, they are a bit larger in size than normal. Nevertheless they are extra comfy even if standing all day. Inner sole and overall structure are well over my expectations. I would expect no less from Timberland. Overall an above average working boot with great VFM, (Not waterproof though) that could be improved in true-to-size as well as to the internal finish of ankle material and support.

HI my name is Chris I'm a commercial truck driver of 18 years I'm very hard on my shoes contrary to popular belief I am on my feet a lot I get in and out of the truck I'm on diesel fuel island I unload my truck in and out of the back I need good support I change boots about every 10 months I do not buy cheap boots I have always loved timberlands my first real quality pair of boots were Tim's and I wore those things for four years until they finally fell apart and I put them through living hell. So far I am enjoying the comfort of the boot very good support well constructed I already have one little disappointment be in slip resistant soul it does not do its job very well I was at the diesel fuel island and I went to step up into my truck there was diesel fuel on my soul and I darn near broke my neck getting into the truck Because my soles did not grip the running boards on the truck Traction is a must in my line of work so far not so good. If you are looking for a comfortable boot I give this boot four out of five stars As far as the sole goes I give it two stars

So if you looking for some more durable model for some extreme conditions I would recommend some other Timberland model
After few weeks I can say they hold on well, after few days of stretching out leather on them and pain that's come out then they are really comfy. Just one thing I think leather that shoes are covered is slightly to soft and most of things that you will accidently kick will scratch and leave some marks. Cushions and that gel insert that boots come with does the job. So if you looking for some more durable model for some extreme conditions I would recommend some other Timberland model, but that one will be fine if you just walk a lot.
