Tree disposal made simple.

Basic, But Does the Job!
My husband put so many lights on the Christmas tree, that we decided to store it upright in hopes that it would make it easier for next year. We initially tried an expensive bag, but it wasn't wide enough and we eventually gave up in frustration. I came across this one, and the inexpensive price made me think that it was worth taking the risk. So that you can compare it to yours, our tree is 9 X 5. It's basically one huge rectangle-shaped heavy-duty plastic bag. Looking at the sample picture, it looks like they put the bag on from the bottom - I don't know how they did that with the tree stand in the way. We ended up putting it over the tree and pulling the bag down from all sides until it was completely covered. It could also be that our tree is pretty wide and the branches hang pretty low; they kept flopping around as we tried to cover them. Because of that, this was definitely a two-man job; I can't imagine having done this on my own. Even then, compared to the expensive one we had tried, it slid down relatively easy. Where we went wrong: Cover the tree wherever you're going to store it FIRST, because once it's covered, there's no real way to move it around comfortably; there are no handles, straps, etc. We stupidly did not think ahead, and it ended up coming apart inside the bag as we carried it around. We fixed it, but what a pain! Pros: It does what it's supposed to - it covered our tree from top to bottom and met our expectations in both width and height. It will protect our tree from dust, etc., which is really all that we needed it to do. For the price, you can't beat it. Cons: The branches caught on the plastic and made some tears here and there. So it's a cover, but do not expect any sort of major protection. You'll still have to find some way to close it up - we used a large tie-wrap. It looks pretty messy, but again, that's probably just us from having carried it up the stairs to our storage room and our ridiculously wide/low branches. In summary: I would actually rate it somewhere between 3-3/12 stars and have no regrets in buying it. I can't rate it higher because I don't think that it's super sturdy, but for the money, it met our expectations and have no problem buying another one in the future.

I just needed a basic Christmas tree covering for my six and a half foot tree. This bag might be much larger, but it worked out perfectly for protecting it and storing it until next year's festivities begin again! ????

Nothing more than a large, clear trash bag. Not durable at all.
I read the reviews on this one and the larger one, and got the strong impression from other reviewers that it was durable. One or more said the product would last for years, and similar phrases. Well, my experience proved otherwise. First, be sure you understand that the bag is rectangular, like a trash bag, as opposed to being "Christmas tree shaped." Second, understand (as the description states) that it is 3 mil thick. Look at one of your trash bags to get the idea of the thickness. I balked when I saw that, but the aforementioned reviewers' statements about durability made me give it a try, since it was a lot cheaper than more form-fitting and durable-looking alternatives. Okay, so we had 3 people putting this on the tree. Each of us were attempting to fold the branches upward as we slid it down from the top of the tree. Perhaps, judging from the picture on Amazon, this was not the right way (top-down). The picture shows an open bag at the TOP of the tree. However, the bag is closed at one end (like a trash bag), so I am befuddled at how it could be put on like the picture indicates. We got it slid all the way down the tree, and we noticed several punctures and tears, which we fixed using clear packing tape. So much for the durability. The opening (now at the bottom of our tree), has to be tied with something. There are no ties supplied with the bag. I used sisal binding twine. When my wife and I carried the tree, the top portion of the tree came out of position. I believe that, if the bag were form-fitted ("Christmas tree shaped), this might not have happened, since it would have been more difficult for it to move while being carried. Other bags (much more costly, of course), had handles, which would conceivably allowed the tree to be carried successfully by only one person. It might indeed last for years, but you'll definitely need to have tape on hand to fix punctures and tears.

Works great I didn’t even have to take the lights off I just wrapped the tree with the lights on now I just have to plug it in next year after I take the bag off

Easy
Bought this to be able to store our fake tree without having to take off all the lights and ribbon. The bag was very large at 9x4. It hugged the bottom branches enough to make it through our attic doorway. It fit our 7ft tree very easily. We poked a hole in the bottom and drew it up. Worked just as I expected. I only gave 4/5 stars due to no handles and we will see how it holds up until next season. The plastic is thick enough that the tree did not poke through it. Update a year later: we took it out of the attic and brought it down for the season. The fake tree did poke some holes in it but the material is thick enough that these holes didn't matter. All I had to do was fluff the tree and plug it in! Took me about 30mins compared to 3+ hours of setting up the tree and adding more lights. Plastic was strong enough to grab and hold onto without fear of it ripping like a trash bag.

Flimsy… tears by itself!
I bought 2 of these - 1 to cover a twin mattress being put in to storage and the other for our Christmas tree. Thin and flimsy noted as we covered the twin mattress. In storage for 2 weeks and broke up when it was being moved! Not worth a thin dime!!!

Exactly as described, perfect
This product is exactly as described. It is very thick and durable, and huge! I have a very large tree and there was room to spare after having wrapped the whole thing. I saw reviews that said that the plastic was thin/flimsy, but this is not the case at all. It worked perfectly for my purposes.

Works well
I used as a “garbage” bag for my tree - I live in a condo. It saved me from getting needles throughout the hallways and elevator on my way to the disposal room. I used some twine to tie up the end and worked great.
