A great pair of trousers to replace dressy khakis
Just received these pants and immediately fell in love with them. Be aware that the fabric is Ripstop, but it is a more subtle version of it with cotton and polyester. Some don't like Ripstop but I find this version quite comfortable and user-friendly. I am a lean 6'2" tall, 185 lbs and usually take 32x34 in almost all pants. This was the correct size for me in these pants. The fit around the thighs and crotch is generous and comfortable, which is exactly what I wanted. The elastic waist is totally comfortable. There is a snap closure that feels very secure. Belt loops are wide and easily accommodate a rugged tactical belt. The zippered pockets along the legs are a little small and the zippers are light-duty. You can fit a wallet or a mobile phone in either of those pockets, but nothing else. I bought these to replace some old khakis for going out on the town, including with blazer and tie. As far as I'm concerned, they fit the bill perfectly. The back pockets look at little tactical-looking with their velcro flaps, but that doesn't bother me at all. A blazer covers those up. You can crawl around in the dirt with these, wash them and then head out to the theater or nice restaurant wearing them.

Tru Spec Pants
These pants are so comfortable and are made to be very high quality. Love the placement of the knife pockets on both sides for right and left handed people.

The mullet of pants.
Tactical up top, business down below. I like the Tru-Spec pants I already have with the cargo pockets, but I wanted something a little more business friendly and less "tactical." I like the back pocket with fold over and velcro for my wallet and the accessory pockets for a knife on one side and my key fob on the other is a must have. The thigh pocket for my phone is discrete and works well. I'm glad they make these.

I like these pants because they have many pockets
I bought two of these trousers a couple of years ago during a stay in the US. After wearing them day in and day out for nearly three years it became time to replace them. Size and quality have not changed, so they fit as expected. I like these pants because they have many pockets, some of them not too obvious. It is possible to wear them in the office if a business-casual style is acceptable. They are practical enough for holiday trips, especially if you wear a polo shirt without pockets and have to keep documents, various currencies, a large mobile phone,a pocket knife, etc. A note on colours: originally I had bought a black and a tan one. After several washes the black began to fade out and some parts of the pant became significantly lighter in colour. I dyed them black but this didn't really help. The tan one also faded out but it didn't show as much. My advice: Get them in tan and forget the dark colours. As I said I like the pockets. They can hold a lot of stuff. Due to the fact that the pants are comparatively baggy the stuff you have in your pockets doesn't show too much. But some of the pockets have vertical zippers. It is not very easy to access them quickly. You have to be prepared to live with that if you don't want to wear the typical cargo pants. Finally something not directly related with the product, but with the service of Amazon: I am in Germany and I ordered the pants from Amazon in the US. Due to some problem caused by the local delivery service my packet was not delivered to my home. I was informed that it was going to be shipped back to Amazon. It was impossible to sort things out here in my country. I had to contact Amazon directly and ask for help. I found Amazon's support staff extremely helpful and friendly. They redirected the shipment to me very quickly. It was a pleasure to deal with them. So, thanks again!

Not a replacement fo 5.11 Covert
I live in cargo pants, but sometimes one needs to be dressier. The apparently discontinued 5.11 Covert pants really fit the bill. Even my wife conceded that were a good match for Bean or Lands End chinos, but they are, alas, going away. I have always like Tru-Spec stuff, so was happy to see these in the line. While flaps are nice to secure stuff, they aren't dressy on the rear pockets. Ripstop is great, but isn't dressy either and looks a bit odd when wearing a blazer. The knife pockets also diminish dressiness plus who wants to make it obvious they are carrying a knife? Handy, but the clip and dedicated pocket screams folding tacticool knife. The security pockets aren't useful for me, but they don't interfere with anything, so no problem, but the cargo pockets on the pants legs are a grave disappointment. They are way too small. You can get in a Surefire 6P sized light or a nice multitool, but they won't hold a wallet. Not having to sit on a wallet is one of the joys of cargo pants. Others suggest ripstop in the pockets and that is a good idea. In the end, I am keeping them, but I am still looking for a 5.11 Covert replacement.

Very durable and still a lot of pockets that are just hidden.
I own several pairs of the cargo pocket style of these pants as well as the shorts and love them all. Needed some nicer 'dress pant' looking pants for job/church and these fit the bill. Just as comfortable and durable as the other pairs I have just without the outside pockets. These still have a traditional '5 pocket' form but also 2 hidden pockets of each side of the legs with the zippers concealed into the line down the side. In addition to the concealed pockets there is also a pocket on each side (slightly behind the regular pocket) that I have noticed is on every model of these pants/shorts. It is perfect size for a pen or pocket knife. Also because of its position whenever you would move (i.e. from standing to sitting) very often a pen in a front pocket would either stab your leg or get pushed out of the pocket. Since these pockets are more of the hip whatever is in them doesn't move/fall out when you change position. I love the pockets and these pants. I would highly recommend them even though they are a bit more expensive than most pairs of pants, the original 3 pairs I bought almost 5 years ago with daily use still look new. They are worth the money as they are well made.
