Great shorts
These are great comfortable shorts; I have had them for most of the summer. Yes, these are baggy military cut like BDU's. When I received them, it was 100 degrees F. Wow much cooler than what I had on. I love the Desert Tiger pattern here in blends in with our environment. They did not shrink after washing, got more comfortable. Only issue is the sizing is sung right from the box. In all my clothes I wear size 38 with a little wiggle room. These are snug in the waist. Would go with XL, thinking on getting the BDU pants next.

A Cut Above Regular BDU’s
In my Army days we wore BDU’s, which I think are far more comfortable than today’s ACU’s. What I like about Tru-Spec’s version is that there’s an easy-access pocket behind each cargo pocket. This pocket is large enough to hold an AR15 magazine or a baby bottle if you’re on daddy duty. As my son said, “they’re as practic-ool as they are tactical.

Not a bad throwback
It wasn't quite what I thought, but a zipper fly vs button isn't the end of the world.

Run quite large
Not to be rude, but anyone that thinks these rum small is, well, fat. I’m not a small guy. 36” waist as measured by a tailor. After reading reviews, I ordered a large. These are definitely vanity sized. I’d guess the large fits closer to 38-40 than a 34-36. I wear a 34 in Levi’s (which are definitely vanity sized), and the large was falling off me. Literally. Would not stay up at all without a belt, and I don’t have a small backside. Construction seems solid, but didn’t get a chance to put them to the test. Order accordingly, and don’t bag the product if they’re a bit snug, mind your diet

Great fit. Improved design
These shorts are terrific. They're better than I'd hoped for. I bought the desert tiger stripe in size large. I'm 6'3", 230-235 lbs. I've been losing a little weight and I'm at an awkward size (between the 38's and the 40's.) These shorts are snug at the waist, with room in the hips and thighs. I have a green tiger stripe pair in XL that are getting too baggy and threaten to slide down off my 55 year old butt - which would be a tragedy for me, and any unfortunates who might be there to bear witness. They've upgraded the design too! They now have open top tech pockets at the top of, central to, and hidden behind, the bellows side pockets. They've moved the rearward, of the two bellows pocket buttons, more toward the middle, allowing the contents to stay more secure, (if you like leaving the forward button undone.) The waist tabs, at the sides remain, and I hope I'll need to be able to tighten them up a bit as I continue to shed a couple more of those tenacious pounds. I'm thinking about getting another pair, in tan or green.

So far, so perfect
Love the cell phone pockets, I didn't even notice that in the description.

Great shorts!
Great shorts. I had a pair of these for about 5 years before I wore them out. These have the same ripstop material like what Summer weight BDUs have (at least like the ones in the early '90's). I wasn't sure what I'd think about the zipper fly vs the original button fly but I think I actually like the zipper better--for civilian wear. The cell phone pocket is a really cool addition. I have an iPhone 6 in a lifeproof case and it fits nicely. I was worried that the cargo pants would have velcro (or hook/pile tape as Uncle Sam used to call it) :-) but they have buttons like the old ones--which I think will last longer than velcro. As far as fit goes, I am 5'11" and 230lbs with a 38 inch waist and I went with the large. They fit well, but if you are closer to 39 inches you may want to go up a size. Overall, I am very pleased with these shorts.

Who wear short shorts ?.
I love these shorts. I suggest going a size down as they are pretty big. They will shrink over time tho. I still went a size down an glad I did. Very stylish and a solid fit. Good for hiking or chilly in the summer.

Not great shorts, but very very good
Nice shorts. Appear to be well made and of durable materials. The cargo pockets are big and wide, and have a nice little cell phone/magazine pocket. But they are not all that deep, so my water bottle sticks out of the top. The rear pockets are well designed so that nothing will fall out when buttoned. The rear pockets aren't big though, but will carry a wallet. Took a star away for the tags on the waistband. Lots of excess material around the tags, so they chafe a bit. Seems like a small detail that was overlooked. Still, seem like durable shorts that will last a long time. Am happy with purchase.

Like wearing nothing at all
The rip-stop material takes some getting used to. Very lightweight compared to traditional BDU's but still quite comfortable. Pocket sizes and flaps are great. Medium (31-35") fit me (34") perfect.

Cargo pockets much bigger than you think.
Inseam is definitely not 10 inches, i'm 5'10 and it's really short. More than a quarter of my leg is showing when sitting down. The cargo side pockets are much bigger than you think, to the point where it looks funny. Would not recommend. Shorts seem quality though, just the design is so weird.

Good quality
Second pair of Tru-Spec bdu shorts I've purchased. They are good quality material and workmanship, well made products. Recommended
