Amazing game

Amazing game and unlike others (from other sellers) this one actually worked. Second ever one of these I have done and took my friend and I about 3 hours. Totally reccomend and it’s amazing for the price.

Love these!

I have three of these and my family loves them. This one was a little challenging though. One of the websites (Facebook page) actually got blocked on my phone because of porn (not sure what happened there) so you may want to try the link privately before you attempt to open in mixed company. This one was a lot harder to figure out than the last one we did so make sure you have some map readers and decoders on your team.

Easy Case, Decent Quality

This was an easy case to solve as a solo sleuth. Took me 1.5 hours once I read through everything. My theory was also correct, too. Didn't have to use any hints. I recommend this for a beginner. I don't think the pricing for this is worth it, though. The clues felt very cheaply made and some images were pixilated. I also had some wrinkled papers in mine (not sure if this was on purpose). I will say that you DO use all the clues, which was good.

Fun Murder Mystery

This is heavy on reading, so if you are looking for something more interactive then you will be disappointed. It was difficult making a decision on who the killer was, and we unfortunately got it wrong. But luckily full explanations are given as to why one person was right while others were wrong, and you realize the clues were right there the whole time.

Such a fun game for friends and family!

There will be no spoilers in this review. If you love murder mysteries than this game is for you especially if you have friends and family that enjoy it as well. Will definitely suggest taking notes as much as possible of the evidence. Already ordered another one and can’t wait to solve the next one. I would definitely recommend to the makers of the game to add a pop up of the crime scene for a full view for an even more enjoyable experience. Possibly add more hands on evidence such as a medical syringe with traces of a poison that lead to the victims murder. Little things like this definitely go along way. Even without those little things it’s still 5/5 for me.

Fun!

I thought this was really fun and well done. You feel like you’re looking at actual evidence files. It took two of us about an hour to solve with discussion, but I didn’t think it was as obvious as some others say. We developed a couple of different theories but ultimately solved it correctly. It would be fun to do solo or in a small group.

Very fun!

This was fun, though difficult and frustrating at times. Took 6 of us a couple of hours to solve. It does not have puzzles that you solve to get hints like some other boxes. Rather, they are crime files and you are solving the crime via detective work. You’ll want pen and paper or a laptop to take notes! 1 Star taken off for only having the solve/hints on a website. It would be nice to also have an answer envelope in the box, for when you’re playing at the cottage with no internet access or if the website even goes offline.

A good wannabe detective gift!

This product is absolutely brilliant. I wanted to buy those “unsolved case files”, but was to cheap to fork out for them, so I hoped this would be similar. It was actually hard to solve and we had to use lots of the clues! Took us a couple of hours, money well spent!

Highly Recommend!!

This is the second Murder Mystery Case File that I have bought. I would definitely say this was tougher than the Fire in Adlerstein case file so if you're interested in purchasing one from the set I would suggest starting with that case over this one. However, that stated, this case was definitely just as interesting, intriguing, and fun to solve. Great way to spend an evening with friends. It took us around five hours to figure it out so if you are looking to spend an evening working on it and want to solve it the same night, make sure you set some time aside! Unless, you're a natural Sherlock Holms!

Enjoyable game play but a very simple and staightforward scenario

The goal was to list the suspects and add 1) motive, 2) means, and 3) opportunity. If I had all three then I would find the killer. And so I read about this Napa Valley wine maker, his brother, his business partner, his secretary, his wife, his foreman and one of his friends. One of them had taken his life and tried to cover it up. To be honest, I had only read the Missing Person File and I already had my eyes set on one of the suspects. So when I read the Murder Investigation File I tried to keep this in mind and see if there were other things that fit and they did. Overall I didn’t find it so difficult to find the identity of the killer, and of the 6 possibilities 3 people fell off my list quite soon already. When you only hear once from them in a witness statement and the others don’t speak of them either, how are they supposed to be real suspects then? I did find the motive was kept very simple and I did miss some extra drama and intrigue between the different characters, like mistresses who had affairs with different men and then tension and jealousy between them… I didn’t feel much ’emotion’ coming off any of the characters and it’s all quite straight-lined, there are no complications. I know, I read too many stories, right? All in all I enjoyed this but I missed some extra game play, you’re done when you’ve read everything (I did take notes too so that I saw the important points in the statements) and you decide on a name. All you have to do then is check the solution on a private site (and there are a few clues too to get there if you need them), where they confirmed my suspicion, my suspect was in fact GUILTY. They also list all the clues (5 or 6) for you to have come to that conclusion.
