Enzymes help with bacteria and tartar
I Prefer enzyme-based toothpaste to regular dog toothpaste because it helps with bacteria and plaque. I apply/brush at night before bed because it gives the enzymes time to work more effectively-in my opinion.

Seems like a good product
I use this for my crabby old man dog.... he doesn't mind, it's actually faster n more efficient then the human style toothbrush. He seems to like the flavor. It doesn't really bother him. Used it for a month n his breath is tolerable now. I got another brush for my puppy... she's learning and don't like it but likes the toothpaste flavor lol

One thing was missing
It said it came with a bonus finger brush which would be great, but it wasn't in the package. I would really like to get it if possible!

Wow!
Just got this in today and used it on our 6 year old malinois/boxer mix who’s had some stinky breath for a while.. brushed his teeth as well as I could since he was being a bit dramatic about it, and the odor is already gone!! Even 5-6 hours later I don’t smell anything, so I can tell it definitely works! Can’t wait to see what it does for some of the tartar buildup he has!

Great toothpaste, inadequate toothbrush
I brush my 5-month-old Shepherd mutt puppy's teeth every night. The toothpaste is a hit and he zips towards me with big eyes every time I hold up the toothpaste tube. The toothbrush, however, is like a standard human toothbrush and could not hold up to a teething puppy. He snapped clear through it on the third night as I was brushing his teeth and I had to do a quick finger sweep to keep him from swallowing the brush head! Scary. I ended up purchasing a thicker toothbrush from a different brand and it's held up great. I plan to keep buying the this toothpaste because he loves it, but I'll get toothbrushes elsewhere.

was giving up hope until it worked
i ordered this product february 9 2023, my dog is 6 pounds and about to turn 7 in a couple months, it never crossed my mind that she needed to have her teeth brushed. i started brushing them everyday since i received the toothpaste, for about 3 minutes on each side, and i was losing hope because she was making no improvement. After i saw no results after a month i started brushing only about 5 times a week but today march 30th after nearly two months of brushing, i put my nail against the tar and this piece came off!! it gave me much more hope about her teeth!! i will add that around the 1 1/2 months i started adding a “clean teeth gel” that i also got here on amazon to our daily routine. if you have a small dog i recommend ordering separate toothbrushes bc the one that comes with this one doesn’t work for smaller dogs as well

Works good just very expensive
Very expensive but works alright it more just prevents your dogs breath from being gross it still smells like breath it’s just not gross and that’s with doing it every 2 or 3 days and my dog being on a good diet. But it does work can’t say it doesn’t work well and as I’d expected

Don't buy it!
Bought this based on the ingredients description being natural and non-toxic. Item arrived with a lot extra in the ingredients list, including ingredients that are toxic to dogs (e.g clove oil). Go to return it... not eligible for return. Terrible. Going in the bin

Safest/Best Toothpaste I could find
I stopped using my previous brand of toothpaste by Petrodex because it contains dextrose (a sugar) and a preservative called sodium benzoate, which can change to a carcinogen (cancer-causing) benzene. Since dogs can't spit out toothpaste like humans do, I'm not taking that risk. I was doing a lot of research of different brands, and none of them looked good due to them also containing sugar and/or sodium benzoate, or other toxic/concerning ingredients, or it was just ridiculously expensive. I even looked at human toothpastes, but I couldn't find one that was free from both fluoride and xylitol (sweetener that WILL kill your dog). I was thinking that I would have to make an acceptable dog toothpaste myself. But then I found this brand. All the ingredients are good. The grapefruit seed extract does not affect medication and is not toxic. No sugar either (there is a typo in this listing - there is NO glucose! "glucose oxidase" is an enzyme that digests glucose). My dog doesn't love the taste as much as the previous brand, but she likes it enough to lick it off my finger. I think the formula should be thickened a little bit for ease of brushing. One thing I was annoyed by was how much air was inside the large tube. It's like a bag of chips. So there's not as much toothpaste as I thought. Maybe not as good of a price for the amount you actually get (pay attention to the weight in g). I may try crushing up some calcium carbonate pills to a powder to add to toothpaste. That will help thicken the toothpaste up, and also it's great for strengthening bones and teeth. Calcium carbonate is used in toothpastes and also orthopedic (bone and joint) surgery, as it fuses and becomes one with bones and teeth, strengthening both.

Now part of the daily routine
We use this daily on our dogs, after 2 weeks we can deffinately notice and smell the difference! Toothbrush wasn't great, since bought the vets best finger toothbrush and it is so much better.

Terrible bristles that do not clean gone back to a normal toothbrush
Expensive and rubbish, tooth paste has the cleaning power of coffee, toothbrush bristles are way to soft/flexible and far to little bristles to clean anything. Gone back to a normal toothbrush terrible do not buy

Dog Got Bad Breath?
From my and my wife's perspective, this has definitely helped our English Mastiff's "swamp mouth". Not sure how our mastiff feels about it.... The brush works well and the toothpaste itself seems good. I started off brushing her teeth (our dog, not my spouse) every day and then reduced to a few times a week. Then I stopped for awhile and she seemed to be good for a week or more. So now I only brush as necessary. (her vet always comments on her teeth looking really good - so I don't think it's necessary to brush them for hygenic reasons other than breath). You may want to invest in a pair of good heavy rubber gloves, otherwise you'll end up with drool almost up to your elbows. (depending on how much mouth there is to brush - and a 195lb Mastiff has a LOT of mouth) The only negative comment is that the cap on the tube almost broke off after the first use, so I'm more careful now opening and closing.
