The advantage of this type of airlock is that they do have a smaller chamber so you can more closely observe the CO2 rising and therefore the rate of fermentation. They are also handy when you are cooling a beer as there is less chance of sucking airlock water back into the fermentation. The down side is that they cannot be cleaned manually if they get dirty during the ferment. That is why we do not prefer them for the active portion of the ferment when the foam from fermentation might be pushed up into the airlock.

SATISFACTION GUARANTEE: At FastRack we pride ourselves on creating products that can be trusted by our customers. Buyer satisfaction is our top priority, maybe, sometimes accidents happen during shipping. If anything is cracked or broken, please let us know and we’ll do our best to make sure you are 100% satisfied with our product and service. WIDELY USED: The fermentation airlock can be used in various fermentation projects to preserve food as well! The brewing airlock can be used to brew craft beer or wine, but also used for sauerkraut, kimchi, etc. HOW IT WORKS: Airlocks enable CO2 to be released during fermentation and trap oxygen from entering the fermenter. The bubbler style airlock is the preferred airlock for secondary fermentation, as it is possible to monitor the pressure inside the fermenter, and is the go to winemaking airlock. EASY & SIMPLE TO USE: Insert the assembled airlock into the hole of the rubber stopper that fits your current jug or carboy. Fill the Bubbler Airlock with water and insert the drilled stopper or bung to vent gasses during fermentation. The airlock cap should always stay on top when in use to allow gas to escape and prevent the water inside from quickly spilling out if tipped over. AUTOMATIC TRANSPARENT AIRLOCK: FastRack airlocks are stronger, more transparent, and made of food-grade materials. You will easily see the entire fermentation process! Due to the airtight design of our fermentation airlock we isolate the air and prevent oxidation. Fastrack brewing airlock exhausts automatically at room temperature without manual intervention.

Good air locks
These work great for fermentation and making alcohol. They fit right in the rubber stoppers I got.

Cheaply Made But They Work as Intended
Nobody really makes a GREAT airlock. I mean, they're all cheaply made, break easily, but work as they are supposed to. They are not easy to clean, but when is an airlock ever easy to clean? If you handle them too roughly, or accidentally step on one, or use it too many times, they will break. It's okay. They aren't terribly expensive and I don't expect them to last forever.

Need some tlc before they work
The way these are molded leaves a sharp somtimes misaligned seam that requires trimming and sanding befor they will give an air tight seal. I take 400 - 2k grit until the seam is flush and smooth. Too bad they don't upgrade to a better mold.

Great airlocks
I’ve had numerous issues with foam over dirtying up my airlocks and hated the process of trying to clean them. When I found this it makes it less painful to toss ones that are extra dirty.

Great price and actually stronger than i expected.
I prefer this type bubbler over the straight type. Some I have bought in the past were too thin in construction and they easily broke. These are a little thicker than others especially for the price. I do expect to break one here or there from mishandling or dropping them, they seem real dependable in use. The double bubbler insures that no fruit flies will make it to the good stuff.

Great deal, love the quality and quantity.
The great thing about these airlocks is the simplicity. I use them for both cider and fermenting vegetables. I’ve had a few eruptions and these can be tricky to clean, like most airlocks, the plastic is not thick enough to withstand hot water, so don’t clean them with scorching hot water, they will melt. Overall I recommend these airlocks for the price and simplicity.
