Inexpensive. Reliable. Simple.
I’ve been a fan of Wahoo products for quite sometime. My first cycling computer was the Wahoo ELEMNT Bolt V1. It was everything I needed until Wahoo’s new Summit Freeride feature was released. I had to have it so I felt it necessary to upgrade to the Bolt V2. I was back and forth on switch to Garmin cycling computers because of their similar features and user interface but their prices are a little more than Wahoo’s. Also, not knowing if I’d be fully satisfied with Garmin it seemed like too big of a chunk of money to take the risk and switch. I’m glad I didn’t. This Bolt V2 is perfect for me. It does everything I need it to do and it does it very well.

Worth upgrading
So much better than my original bolt. If you’re struggling with a garmin, don’t even second guess it. So much easier and dependable.

Works as expected but a little touchy and limited memory
So far this has done the basic bike computer things but does not have a touch screen and has very limited storage for maps. It is very hard to see while riding when it dims to save battery life (a setting I haven't found in the app yet which is convoluted.) Bought to replace my Karoo 2 that was lost on the way to a trail and so far kind of ok. If you are looking for a basic computer this is it. If you want more functionality I'd highly recommend the Karoo 2. Especially if you hate apps and trying to configure things on your phone. It is very good at pausing when you stop though. Downside is that the pause screen takes up half the display so you can't see your stats until you start moving again unless you figure out how to modify the display. The app is annoying and constantly wants to play intro screens or tutorials instead of just opening to the main screen. I don't want to spend 20 minutes on my phone to change something that should take less than a minute. TLDR: Basic bike computer is basic but functionally annoying. Was much happier with the Karoo 2 but will give this more time to get used to.

Not as good as the V1
I was using the Bolt V1, but broke it and since Wahoo no longer makes the V1, I bought the V2 as a replacement. The screen is noticeably smaller than the V1 and I miss the speed lights. The most frustrating thing is you're required to create an account just to set the data fields. This is clearly a scam to send you junk email. I didn't bother and just used the default fields. Based on my first ride, the battery life is more like 10 hours. For my next GPS, I'll probably switch brands. Good - Clear screen - Fits same mount as V1 - Shows battery level at power off - Default data fields same as V1 - Pairing the device with the app is easy Bad - Small screen - No above\below average speed lights - Account required to set data fields - More expensive than the V1 Update: After using the GPS for a few months, I noticed the clock is off by 5 minutes with no way to correct it. I may need to switch GPSs sooner than expected.

Disappointed
This was purchased to replace my ‘V1’ Bolt. I was torn between the new Bolt and the Roam. They are currently the same price. The larger screen/bigger text of the Roam had appeal. Online reviews indicated that the text was crisper on the new Bolt versus the Roam. Although the pitch of the font used on the V2 bolt appears to be the same as the V1, I found it harder to read when displaying more than 4 fields. The ELEMNTs all jump from 4 to 7 fields as you zoom out so this becomes an issue when displaying more than 4 fields on a page. The issue appears to be a font change between the units. I found this to be unacceptable. An annoying feature of all of the ELEMNTs is that when 4 fields are displayed, the 2nd and 3rd fields are smaller boxes than 1 and 4. This makes the 4th most important field more prominent when 4 fields are displayed. Otherwise, I like ELEMNT computers very much. The application to configure it is intuitive and easy to use. I like operating the unit with buttons over a touchscreen. In my opinion the only advantage of the Bolt over the Roam is the memory upgrade which allows more detailed maps to be stored on board, but the small screen in some ways makes the issue moot. Right now the larger color palette is mostly moot as well because the Bolt only appears to use basic colors in its current displays. Returning and going with the Roam.

The only bike computer for me
Overall, I was skeptical about buying a expensive bike computer. I originally had a coospo bike computer that I felt like it was great for what I was doing. But, I decided to buy the wahoo because I’m in to the health science for road biking. I thought if I didn’t like it I could return it. But that never happened, I realized that I need this device more then I thought. If you live in a city that is confusing and hard to navigate via bike. This little thing will tell you where to go. I was a bit difficult to setup but what device isn’t. Also, it’s great because you can also connect it to garmin devices and so on.

Great battery life. Superior user interface
I purchased this after returning a Garmin 530. The Wahoo is better in almost every way, except one: The user interface and menus are bright and clear and easy to navigate, even without a touch screen. Battery life is exceptional. A typical 1 hour ride ends with 92% battery life remaining. The fonts and screen resolution is easy to read and see even under high noon sunshine and the automatic backlight comes in handy when the light starts to fade or you go under dense trees. The auto upload to Strava and Apple Health is flawless and quick. The only quibble is that the out front bar mount seems a bit flimsy compared to the one on the Garmin. The EDGE also doesn't control lights via the new ANT+ lighting protocol for smart lights. That's something that Wahoo needs to fix.

Excellent and simple to use.
This was an upgrade from a 3 year old Wahoo Elements which battery was failing. Basically the same unit with a smaller screen and a bits improved. The screen is big enough for navigation and the unit works smoothly. If you are after a simple to use, reliable bike computer I'd highly recommend. Battery life is excellent also, after a 200k ride navigating all ride I still had 60% battery. There were no sensors attached which may reduce battery life. On my old unit the altermeter way poor, those one seems spot on. And the gradient profile is reliable. Top GPS.

Great bike computer
Great little device- the screen is easy to use and navigate, battery life is great and the maps work well. Also takes less time to load than the garmin ones. Very happy with it.

Better than my old garmin
Bought this to replace my old garmin 820, the battery lasts ages even with GPS, got 18hours without needing to charge. The screen is clear. It's easy to use with a phone. I find it far more user friendly than a Garmin, just wish I could edit post rides.

Great bike computer
It's my first bike computer. I like it. It took a while to understand how to set it up especially how to upload maps. This last function does require wifi so can be a problem on the go. Screen is smaller than the Roam model but still good.
