Weldforce™ Variable-Shade, Auto-Darkening Welding Helmets provide safety, convenience, design, and comfort for all welding and grinding projects. Safety: Weldforce Welding Helmets are manufactured to protect your eyes from arc intensity during welding operations. The helmet features (2) arc sensors that detect light and automatically darken the filter lens. Like a pair of sunglasses, the automatic filter provides protection from harmful UV and IR rays. Convenience: Weldforce Welding Helmets offer an auto-darkening capability that eliminates the need to lift and close your helmet during work. This allows for continuous operation and ensures that your eyes are always protected. A shade adjustment knob is included on the outside of the helmet that allows you to adjust the level of shade, including a grinding function. For added convenience, there is also an internal control dial that allows for time delay, sensitivity, and shade range (5-9, 9-13 variable) selections. Design & Comfort: Weldforce Welding Helmets are designed to withstand the rigors of the welding process and provide you comfort at the same time. A large viewing area makes sure you are precise with your arcs. An adjustable, padded headgear gives you the option to adjust the size and angle to your individual requirements.

You can pay more and get less
Like one other reviewer stated...I don't know how they give you so much for $23. In retrospect though, that particular reviewer had the larger lens in that particular helmet and it was a free product vine voice review...so he was reviewing the next model up. I wish it was like the old days where you could buy just a shell...but no, you gotta get an entire helmet...so When purchasing a budget helmet, especially at this price point, I do not consider how great the helmet is...but rather how upgradable it is... let me 'splain... If you have never welded before, any helmet will do...clarity, is probably your most important thing. You are not going to know what you are missing and you can NOT base your experience off others reviews...there are so many helmets, they are like shoes...just because another newbie said they were happy with it does not mean you will be. On the other hand, If you have welded for years, you will know pretty fast if the weight, balance, and adjustments are what you are after. My whole point of saying all this is that I really like the look and balance of this helmet...but, as a former professional welder, I could never live with such a small view. No problem....the helmet receives a standard 4.5" x 5.25" filter. I can swap it with one from another helmet. Pros: *Accepts standard 4.5" x 5.25" filter *Has external Grind / shade adjustment control *The light shade of the lens is shade #3. That is huge for grinding. Many budget helmets are at #4-#5 in the resting/grinding state *Decent headgear. It's adjustments are very easy to use, and you can adjust the for/aft of the helmet at the touch of a button. *Nice balance. Easy to raise/lower and stays up on it's own with ratcheted swivels *Comes with extras. Helemt bag, spare clear lenses, spare sweat bands... *Accepts cheater magnify lens Cons: *The headgear was not really "installed" it was thrown in backwards and not even tightened down. *Has a miserably small view. (i mean more like the "traditional" view so maybe i am being dramatic) *Only 2 arc sensors *No "test" button Summary: Overall this is most definitely worth the price. It has way more positives than the few negatives, and despite the small view, it makes up in clarity and a shade 3 resting state. I have spent more on helmets and got less IMO. At the time of this writing, the next model up looks like the same helmet with large view for only $16 more. Based on my experience with this model, I would not hesitate to recommend that model either at that price.

Welding shield
This welding shield is the best I have ever used I am just a welder at home but it makes me want to weld something every day. I have made all kinds of good stuff plus a lot of repairs. I can weld better now with that shield. I made a wood stove out of a large amo box lined it with 1/4” steel. Works great

Great helmet but had a problem
This is a great helmet, so many comfort adjustments, however it was assembled backwards. The head gear was installed backwards in the helmet which placed the sweatband on top of your head instead of on your forehead. Also there are two washers on tge side pivots that were installed on the inside of the helmet instead of the outside. This prevented you from snapping your head, and dropping the helmet in position. There is no assembly diagram in the owners manual. Once I figured out this was all backwards and how to fix it, it is awesome.

I Don't Know How They Do It But This Is Worth Double
Disclosure: This was sent to me for free via the Vine program. I did not receive monetary compensation to write this review, just the product itself. When I got my welder, it came with a welding mask that was entirely unsuitable for use by humans. Seriously, it wasn't so much as a welding helmet as much it was a tinted lens kabuki mask. And the edges of it were unfinished so you had a 50/50 chance of cutting yourself while using it because of a big ol' brick of unbeveled glass next to your face. So, while I searched for my professional welding mask among my storage unit's all-encompassing morass of stuff, I decided to put in for a light duty welding mask to tide me over and to do the review. Y'know, something that didn't have the biggest lens, didn't have the bells and whistles; something cheap. So, after much consideration of the power options for all the hoods available, I went with this. Now, bear in mind, this says it's a 3.62-Inch x 1.65-Inch viewing port. Take a look at picture one. Does that look like 3.62-Inch x 1.65-Inch to you? Because it looks like 3.62 x 3.62 to me. Also, take a look at photo two. Does that look like a "no frills" lens to you? Hell, look at number three which is the head cradle. Does that look budget to you? I dunno, maybe I'm stupid, which is a distinct possibility, but this looks like a $70 helmet for $39. In terms of function, it works great. Auto darkens immediately, is True Color (!) so you're not staring at a tiny green bead like you're waiting for a sonar blip on a 1940s submarine, has extra leather wraps for the straps, comes with a carry bag, a lens cleaner, AND a spare lens. I dunno, my friends, but this definitely feels like I robbed these people. All told, this unit is -excellent-. It's definitely not what the description says; it's so, so much more. Fast reaction, multiple settings, customizable sensitivity and darkness...this is all the bells and whistles of a MUCH more expensive helmet at a fraction of the price. I don't know if it's error on their end or if they're just knocking this out of the park but I -highly- recommend picking one of these up. You won't find better for cheaper anywhere.
