Returned item, but it should have worked

It probably would have performed as expected, but it was returned. The plumber I used preferred an OEM remodel plate to go along with the new valve.

Octagon? Hexagon? Toss-up.

This product comes in two form factors: an octagon and a hexagon. It seems impossible to tell what you’re going to get until you open the package. The picture show the hexagon. The instructions show both shapes with a cryptic note. Mine had packaging showing the hexagon. But inside: octagon. Maybe you don’t care so much about the shape, but goodness these remodel plates are so big and often so ugly that we need a little compensation. I ordered a second from another supplier. I can’t recall if or why I had more confidence that I would get the right shape. But I did. The nice clean hexagon looks great against 1950s pastel square tile.

Works well and looks good

I had heard bad things about remodel plates, so my expectations were not too high. But, this one looks better than the ones available at local big box stores. It is metal, not plastic. The color doesn't exactly match my faucet, but this is not a fault of this product, and it is close enough to buy me time before I completely remodel the whole bathroom.

Not particularly "polished" chrome

For being for "Moen and Delta" it's not a very close match to the polished chrome of Moen. Much much darker than the Moen valve trim/shower dial.

Chromed on wrong side

Ordered it twice and both had the chrome on the wrong side. If you’re on a schedule, leave enough time to send these back and forth in case the same thing happens to you. Seems like a good piece and like that it’s metal, but will be returning.

THIS THING HAS SHARP EDGES AND CUT ME RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX!!!

First off I have to say that this will do the job that's it's intended to do. Now here is where I rip this company a new one - THIS THING HAS SHARP EDGES AND CUT ME RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX!!! It is made from stamped metal and I had to take a file and had to de-burr this before I could handle it. I've been a metalworker and machinist since 1979 and I never would have sent something out to a customer in this shape. I would have expected a better finished product for the price that is charged. No way would I recommend this for the price charged.
