This is probably a great product, but it's not what I need

This is probably a great product, but it's not what I need. To work properly you have to submerge the probe in 1.5 inches of liquid. This makes sense if you are deep frying, but I make candy on a small scale. I bought it because my candy thermometer pan clip broke and this one had a different style of clip that looked like a good idea. I was able to remove this pan clip and use it with a smaller thermometer. This was more cost effective than buying a clip by itself, so 4 stars.

It is what it says. I needed it for ...

It is what it says. I needed it for syrup, and it took awhile to learn to use it right. There is no syrup label, but there is a deep fry and candy scale.

It still works even after TSA searched my suitcase and broke it. I know they searched it because their was one of those ' We had to search for the safetly bla, bla, bla, papers in the suit case. It still works even with broken glass.

Not Happy

Low price and low quality. Rolling boil water reads on average 198 degrees, not very accurate. Tested 3 times with a plus/minus variance of 5 degrees. It is non adjustable. Spend a few more $s and you will be happier.
