They filter well and hold a lot of dust

They do a good job filtering and hold a lot of dirt and dust. You can take them off and knock the bulk of the accumulated dirt and dust off and then put the back in, so they last a long time as long as you don't get the wet. Installing them is easy as long as you make sure to push them all the way on so that the filter opening goes beyond the lip of the prong they attach to. Otherwise they will just fall off, in which case you will know soon enough when whatever you are vacuuming up comes blowing back out again. It does take some effort to push them all the way on.

Very easy to install. With the wood dust I do have to replace about every 3 months.

Bought this filter for an older WS12000 (need a new filter cage to accept the new filter design)

Workshop changed the design of the filter cage so this "new" style filter will not fit onto the old WS12000 filter cage. This new filter is 1" taller than the old filter cage. Called Workshop (1-800 number) and they acknowledged the filter cage design change and this new filter design would not work with the old WS12000 filter cage. Workshop sent me the new filter cage design (for free) - part number = 510205. BTW, I am in Canada. Popped out the old filter cage and installed the new filter cage (P/N=510205). Installed this new filter onto the new filter cage, and the vacuum is back in business. I have bought the fine dust filter as well.

Good product

much larger than expected. Good thing I bought this used from warehouse, the regular price is higher than the big box stores. This fits my old Craftsman 113-290451C, not my small 4 Gal. Ridgid (VF3500) as I expected. Seems to be well built, time will tell. The size is id 4 3/8", od 7", length 8"

Doesn’t fit on WS12000 vacuum

Unfortunately I relied on the question and answers which indicated that it fit on Workshop model WS12000, and when I finally came to install it, I realized that it was several inches too tall to fit. Terribly, I waited past the Amazon return window, and now, due to poor information, I am stuck with a useless filter, and still cannot find the right replacement item.

Does not fit as advertised

Does not for my workshop 45 gallon shop vac. The filter is too short for the locking nut to be screwed on. Filter will stay on due to friction unless its banged around. Filter does its job otherwise.
