New packaging, used returned shorts

I purchase 5 pair of these in a larger size every year to wear to work. I recently purchased one pair in a smaller size that is my actual size, to wear around. So because I know what brand-new shorts look, feel and smell like, I immediately noticed that while these shorts came in a new like packaging, they had been worn, washed and likely put in a dryer. The shorts had no formaldehyde odor and were soft instead of stiff and had wrinkles and wear impressions on the buttons like a one time ironing would make. Also all the loose threads were cleaned off and the pockets were not buttoned down like has always been the case on every new pair of shorts I've purchased over the years. So, apparently, I got a returned pair of shorts at new shorts price....

I like the durability of these shorts over the 5.11 brand shorts which go threadbare within a few months.

Who the hell were these made for??

Firstly, they were so long that they were practically capris. Second, they were so high-waisted that the beltline went almost to my floating ribs, and I'm not exaggerating. Lastly, the third time I wore them to work the crotch tour by my simply getting in and out of the cargo area of my work truck because of how poorly they fit. I will be going to them for a refund

My Favourite work shorts

I'm a carpenter and I wear these in the summer months. I have the Long version for colder days. Nice cargo pockets and small places for pencils and tools like screw drivers. Also love the leather re-enforced front pocket for the tape measure. Allows me to not always carry my belt and tool pouch all the time.
