Cheapest option I could find yet still durable.

Not geared, so obviously creates more winding, but the simplicity and hardiness is hard to beat.

Does not hold as much as they say

I have horses and use electric fence tape to set up and move temporary enclosures all around my property for better management of pasture. I was really excited to receive a pair of these, though they seemed a little expensive. Pros: they are well made and seem to hold up even when I have to leave them out in the rain. Also, as long as you hold them by the handle, they're fairly well balanced. Cons: they only hold half of the capacity advertised. Maybe if I could wind them as well as a robot-driven machine in a factory I could get more on the reel, but that's not the setting they're made for. They're made for people like me who load them up while walking across a field and unroll them the same way. And don't ever let the spool get too full or you'll be fighting to get the wire or tape off the side handle spool thing. Also, for me, it gets kind of heavy when full, but there's nothing to be done about that. I wish someone would make one like a garden hose reel that you could pull along.

Back today to order a third one. This perfectly fits an entire spool of polywire. I’m guessing the people saying it does are using rope, not wire. Yes it’s heavy, but it’s also durable. My kids have been unable to break either of them...make a mess out of the wire, yes, but break the reel, no! This works great for rotating animals. Unrolls and winds smoothly. No way this holds 1625 feet of poly tape. Maybe 1/3 of that at best

Time saver

It's well worth the money and the no aggravation factor. I used this to spool the poly speed wire fencing we use in the winter to deter the deer in our yard. It's a very clean and efficient way for collecting and storing the wire.

Good enough for me

This will not hold 1650 ft of poly rope as the label claims. It holds less than that. It isn't geared, but I really didn't need a geared reel and it worked just fine for my needs.
