Zojirushi began in Japan in 1918 as a manufacturer of hand-blown vacuum bottles. They are still known today for their high quality vacuum insulated products. This stainless steel food jar is vacuum insulated so it keeps foods (or beverages) hot or cold for hours. Durable and sanitary 18/8 stainless steel construction will not rust, tarnish or stain, and will not leak harmful chemicals. The interior is polished stainless steel with a nonstick coating and is neutral to taste and smell. Tight -fitted lid has a gasket that seals lid to minimize leaks and maximize heat retention. It has a unique lid designed with a vent that allows users to release the pressure inside to make the lid easier to open when the food jar contains hot foods or beverages. A wide opening of 2 and one half inches makes it easy to fill and clean and allows user to eat directly out of the jar. Great for holding hot meals, soups, oatmeal, cold desserts and much more

You need this!

Zojirushi products are amazing! Your food will maintain its temperature--hot or cold--for hours. A few years ago, I bought one for my grandson who is not a sandwich eater. He loves it! In fact, despite the fact that it still looked great after daily use, I recently bought this one for him. It's a bit larger than the first one. Whether you prefer a hot lunch or something cold like a salad, you need this. You will be extremely pleased with it. They also have an insulated thermos for beverages, which I have given as gifts. The recipients are thrilled with them. They're not only functional, but they're extremely attractive and the colors are beautiful.

Hold hot food very well

Very compact but holds a lot of food. I pack hot food for my child in it and it pretty keeps warm all day. I’d recommend it to anyone looking to put soup/food/snacks in it!

High Quality Cannister

I got the 16.9 oz cannister in cream color to store loose tea. I’ve used Zojirushi canisters for years and they’re great for this purpose. I don’t like that the container comes out of the box covered in various stickers, but the stickers all peeled off cleanly so no harm done. According to the box, the inner liner is stainless steel, the outer coating is acrylic resin and the lid is polypropylene. The cannister comes with warnings for those interested (see photo). This is a very high quality container. My other Zojirushi containers have held up very well over the years and I’d expect this one to last long time too. Expensive, but you get what you pay for. According to the box, the particular container I received was made in Thailand.

Works well, but nothing special

This is a good container, leak proof, keeps temperature. It's not different from dozens of similar products. Not clear why one should pay more for basic functionality, available at lower prices.

It's not as good as advertised

As a driver, I used to bring hot soup in the morning, but when I opened it at lunchtime, I often found that the temperature had dropped considerably. The soup was still edible, of course, but it didn't feel as good

Large enough for Rice and good at keeping things warm.

I have the Zojirushi flask, which is excellent and keeps things as hot after 12 hours as when you filled it - This item I wanted for food, but doesn’t perform anywhere near the flask. Still use it but have to eat earlier.

Definitely keeps food hot

That's my first review... But I know how hard it is do find a good leak proof food container.. Which also does what it says.. I am so happy and impressed with it... Definitely does what it says... I already have recommended to 2 friends which are looking for one... I am no one to go for big names.. I am someone to go for quality.. Its pereect.. Food is still quite hot when I am going for lunch when I am going for lunch 6 hours later.. Steam is still coming off it.. And I am in love with it... I love my food hot.. And yes.. It certainly still is...

Keeps food hot!

Keeps food hot. My daughter takes a got lunch for school and she says it's sometimes too hot and needs to wait for it to cool a little. The only downside is that the interior has some dents in them from the fork already. Not a huge deal but odd

Superb product

I keeps the contents warm for 10 to 12 hours. Bit bulkier than what you imagine seeing picture. Guess it's necessary for thermal insulation. Highly recommended
