Perfect for my hike in Hawai'i
My daughter and I planned a hike while visiting the Big Island of Hawai'i into a crater at Volcanoes National Park. This worked perfectly! It was small enough to pack in my suitcase and sturdy enough to help me down the 400 ft decent.

Light weight…
I needed a light weight walking stick and this product was just what I needed. I recommend this product for potential buyers. You won’t be sorry.

Its a walking stick!
Seems to be holding up so far after a few hikes. Stays tight after adjusting and have not had it work loose after walking. Only awkward part is the retaining strap on handle, I would put the strap on the other side. Care must be taken if you are hiking with the extra rubber tips on the end, they might slip off and get lost. I would just take them off unless you really need them, just dont rely on them staying on!

Ordered two, one for each hand (obviously). One was sturdy but one slipped a little on occasion at one of the joints out on the trail. Not surprising (I'm on the heavy side) and I could certainly live with it, but it would've been nice to have two completely reliable poles.

Feels pretty cheap and comes apart easily
Feels pretty cheap and comes apart easily, but got the job done on an 18 mile hike through creeks. Donated to another hiker on the way out.

i got these for trekking a few mountains in the Everest region, including base camp. They help save my keens and a few falls that could have been much worse.. at one point one of the poles bend, but was easy to fix. Excellent value for price.

I bought this pole to see how well it performed as a cheap pole. I gave it 4 stars due to the fact that for gentle rolling terrain it seems to do an excellent job. However with my first hike on extreme trails it prove to be somewhat lacking in durability. a 220 lb. person with a 40lb. pack on steep hills covered with rocks and snow were a little too much for it. It ended up with some mild bends in it, not enough that it is no longer serviceable but such that it is no longer retractable. Still for the price, if you're not going to expect it to be of the same quality as a more expensive pole it's an acceptable pole.
